I think the rules for these are in Imperial Armour XIV, if you don't have the book then just ask your opponent if it's ok.

The chimera is no go. The auto cannon and twin linked heavy Bolter turret is only for the Armoured Battle Group list.
But the drop sentinel is totally fine! It's in the reissue of Imperial Armour one. There's lots of fun stuff in there with the 40k stamp of approval. In the unit entry it will, for example, say "Drop Sentinels may be taken as a Fast Attack choice for Codex: Imperial Guard"

Awesome, multi-lasers will have to do then. I can't seem to find that re issue. Could you link a pick of it for me? I have Imperial Armour 1. Is it in there? Is it imperial armour 3 or something?

Nice spot, Gerner. First time I went through the new Imperial Armour book I could've sworn that the auto cannon option was only in the Armoured Battle Group list. Looks like the Chimera can have the auto cannon and twin linked heavy bolters. This changes everything... Haha
I'm starting to kinda see the second edition of Imperial Armour as an almost mini-IG codex update. We got a handful of new units available, and new options for the old. Pretty cool stuff

I hope this doesn't sound stupid, but is armored battle group a separate army?

Not stupid, I didn't know what they were for a long time. In the first Imperial Armour book they included an army list for an Armoured Regiment of the Imperial Guard. They went and released a second edition of that book to be updated for the 6th edition rule set of 40k recently.
So short answer, yes. It's it's own army with it's own rules, but shares a lot with the normal Guard codex.

Ok thanks, and I am assuming that most of the units in it are forge world

Not most of them. I actually picked up the book because I thought a (somewhat) different army would be a good way to get me playing again and it's something I can make using pretty much what I have right now. There are definitely lots of different things from Forgeworld you can use, but at the same time you can still get away using all GW models if you wanted to

all the armoured battlegroup is ... is a mechanised imperial guard force that uses tactics based around vehicles. HQ / infantry squads are light and basic and ride in chimeras, tanks are troop choices and used for support, fast attack is standard (sentinals, hellhounds etc) , heavy support is mainly filled out with artillery and tank destroyers etc.
its true to say that alot of the list revolves around forgeworld, mainly as they produced the book, but almost all the minitures listed are standard GW range...
its just a re-arranged codex really....
