Hi all,
Doing a bit of research before going to crowd funder. Would you fund a non gaming project? I'm looking at ways to fund me opening my restaurant and this is one of the ways I came up with to raise the funds. So the question is would you invest? If not why not? And if there is anyone out there that wants to invest drop me a PM.

No, not through any reason other than I'm not financially viable enough as it is.

Yeah dude, if you cant get a bank to give you a loan your probably better off coming up with a better business plan.

I haven't actually wrote a business plan or been to the bank yet.

No, because crowd funding is unsuited to a restaurant, and because if a bank won't back you I certainly won't.

Like I said I've not been to the bank, it only crossed my mind as I came across someone trying to raise funds for a micro brewery and it got me thinking. Hence me asking the question.

Well before you think about any form of money you need a business plan then try the bank

Also the bank won't give you a penny unless you take something to the table. Like a couple of grand and your house!

That too, you'll need a house or something for collateral...
People dont generally privatly back restraunts because their 50/50 to run or go bust...something like a micro brewery would at least make back its initial investment quick enough cause their comparetivly cheap to set up. Saying that though the ones i went to this year were down to something like 5% the production of last year due to poor crops.

Be wary of Internet promises, for anonymity breeds lies and cruelty. Paradill This is the greatest line I've read in a long time. @foster: When you are ready I'll just send you some money. It won't be much but it will be from my heart and from someone who believes in you.

personally as many have siad i would avoid internet based funding liek the plague, first stop should be friends / family or close friends of the family, after all those avenues are gone then go to the bank.
