Hey guys I've been messing around with my list and I've made a few cuts leaving me with 40 pts to play with. Here is the list for reference:
CCS 4 melta Chimera HF
LC Power fist Carapace Melta bombs
VS 3 plasma guns AC Chimera HF
VS 3 plasma guns AC Chimera HF
PCS 4 flamers Chimera HF
IS Melta bombs AC Flamer
IS Melta bombs AC Flamer
IS Melta bombs AC Flamer
IS Melta bombs AC Flamer
Vendetta
Vendetta
2 LRBT
2 griffons
Manticore
Defence line Quad gun
So I was flipping through the codex and camo netting seemed like an interesting idea for my HS that usually hides behind my defense line. I could afford it on my russes or the manticore plus a plasma pistol for my CC, I'm thinking manticore because the russes do shuffle around sometimes to get better LOS or to move damaged russ to the back of the squad. Does anyone think camo netting is worthwhile for a manticore with the 25% cover rules? Or is it still a little too pricey?

i'd suggest dropping all those meltabombs on the infantry squads. if you can't win combat you can always drop out due to the "our weapons can't hurt it". also what unit will be using the quad gun? by dropping the quad gun+meltaboms+those space 40 pts you can take another chimera-mounted command squad to help out in your deployment zone. make this chap your warlord commander as well to prevent an easy "slay the warlord" VP if your opponent blows up the melta CCS. offcourse that would require dropping your lord commisar. as for camo netting, it can be an absolute pain for your opponent if you deploy that manticore behind 2 small pieces of that aegis defence line (it will block over 50% of your vehicle since things such as large barrels and weapons don't count)

The 4 squads usually blob up and the lord commie joins them to man the gun with BS 5 and to keep them from running while being harder to presicion shot with 2+ LOS, carapace, refractor, and 3 wounds. I'll have to crack open my rulebook and take a look at "our weapons can't hurt it" because if it works like a normal retreat I wouldn't want my 40 man blob to get sweeped along with my warlord. It's actually even better because you only have to cover 25% of a vehicle to give it a save now a days.

whoah! wait, are you using that 41 man blob to man the quad gun??? you're wasting the shots of 36 dudes in favour of 4 twin linked autocaccon shots? just buy 4 ratlings then with those 40 pts to man the quad gun. they'll be really hard to kill behind that aegis defense line not to mention they are BS4. they way you're not wasting that blob by just having it sit there. personally i prefer not to blob up.

Well I do my best to place an objective behind the line for the blob to hold, and they do have4 auto cannons of their own for shooting vehicles early in the game or whenever their las guns don't have a decent target so the quad gun just adds on to that. In the even that I want to issue FRFSRF it just adds a few more str 7 shots, I also use the blob as a bubble wrap for my tanks so they tend to stay in one place surrounding the HS anyway.
