I prefer the GW one on the tank, the FW one looks good as a stationary turret.

Usually I would default side with FW, but I think GW came up trumps with their model.

both look good, tho the GW model makes the manacore look really outdated, kinda like the Russian Kaushka (however u spell it) while the FW looks like a SAM

What is there not to like about a Katyusha?!
It is all a matter of personal taste - it doesn't matter what everybody else prefers, buy the model you think looks awesome.
We are lucky in the Imperial Guard because we actually get the choice of two lovely models before even thinking of converting something (the best bit in my opinion). Most other armies only get one option, so let's all take a few minutes to offer our eternal thanks and gratitude to Forge World.

i was thinking of making a manacore/ Death Strike launcher for Apoc battles, using the FW kit and mounting like 2 deathsrikes on it

Haha, that would be epic.
I'd consider hunting down some dimensions of the turret and deathstrikes though, because it may end up being a bit top heavy. Alternatively you could just scratch built your own deathstrikes to the size you required.
