Hey people! I had a model over and wanted to paint him into a statue, but not really sure how to achive that effect. Maybe something along these lines ( www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/350071-Grey%20Knight%20Statue.html ) Like a old, roughed bronze(I think) look. Would greatly appreciate some tips if you people have any!

I did mine very similarly to this last year or so...
Essentially I primed it black, and then base coated it with the old Dwarf Bronze. I then gave it really heavy washes with Thraka Green and Badab Black. You can see pics in my picture thread which is linked in my signature.

@ Trooper Awesome, thanks. They look really good. Might try this! @cosmic That does look like real marble, or as close as it gets I suppose. Really good paint job. Sadly it's not what I am looking for though As I am curious about the whole aged bronze kinda look. But yeah, very well painted!

I can't find it, but cosmic did some bad ass defence lines with chalk or something, if you could find a turquoise green chalk and applied it into the recesses it might achieve the effect quite well...

these are the defence lines...But they're not quite what he's after I feel. Best thing for bronze is lots of drybrushing of silvers, golds and browns. Then some greenhouse/blue washes in the recesses. That sounds very basic coming from me I'm afraid, I can go into more detail tomorrow. Brains not really working tonight!

I use Hawk Turquoise/Bleached Bone mixed with a bit of water. Slap it on, let it dry and re-highlight/drybrush accordingly
