2 Aircraft!? I've made my vote and I think the painter I've chosen should be proud!

This was stupidly hard, but originality was the choosing point for me. Spectacular all round though.

okay.. I think I made up my mind. Really though, I'd like to vote for each as they all have something excellent about them.
Entry 1, the lens details are ace, Entry 2, the object sourced lighting on the rear of the jets is great, Entry 3, well shaded white with really nice scheme, Entry 4, so many shield patterns!.. excellent detail on such tiny models!
but in the end I choose...

That was close! Ashot wins again. Well done I did go for entry D personally, I felt it was something different to what we've seen before.

Thank you Cosmic! (I take it we're allowed to reveal who did what now?) The other entries were astounding though, I was pleased to see I had any votes at all with that competition. I think the 6mm figures really come into their own en masse - that's about 37 points of a 400 point army, I'll be eventually painting another 25 or so (there are two there) stands of the mass warband at the back. Who did the others? They're 6mm Gauls/Celts based in 28mm ground scale for De Bellis Magistrorum Militum, made by www.baccus6mm.com if anyone's interested. I'm totally hooked on it and just had to post something!

thanks cosmic... that voting was well close! i think (correct me if im wrong) the thuderbolt was macknights.. mine was the avenger... those look like 3ff3cts nids i was well impressed with your 6mm entry dude, its good to see other stuff rather than 40k entered... and the level of detail you attained on the sheilds its very good. im gonna be putting up much more detail pics of the avenger soon on my EDF plog... i was well worried that those rather small pics didnt show the quality of my painting. looking forward to the next comp... EffEct... get a cool theme dude , personally id like either a superheavy, flyer and AA, or a tank theme, but whatever really...

I went for entry D in the end, but it was tough.
Well done all of you who managed an entry!
Thank you!

This was a great competition, congrats to all participants, another cheers for ashot! I personally voted for the tiny men aswell, because my very 1st miniture army was bretonnians, and I can appreciate how long it takes to get them all up, even if its 15mm.
I hope there would be more participants in the future, "whip!"

I hope there would be more participants in the future, "whip!" I can promise to enter any time there's a category for non-40k stuff, as that's most of my lead pile at the moment! Only some basic guard and a second flyer to do which are all identical to things I've already posted. That said, how about a terrain feature competition?

Congratulations, AShot... Excellent job! I had a very difficult time choosing between your entry and Macknight's. I'd love a tutorial on how you achieved the glowing engine effects, as I've got an unbuilt Avenger of my own, along with an unbuilt Marauder Destroyer, and an almost finished Thunderbolt in the pipe.

Nicely done, ashot! I had a very hard time choosing, but ended up going for the gaunts. Just a few simple lines really made them stand out as a unit.

Both those planes were lovely (and I'll be looking at them when I paint my valk) but there was just something about those termagaunts that snagged my vote. I hope to see a whole horde army of them soon!

Nice words Empty and Commissar. Yes, there's still more nids coming onto my painting table! I loved all three other entries, not only for the standard but also how ambitious they were. 6mm! That's crazy! And all the extra detail put onto the aircraft! A damn good hussle guys, be proud of yourselves. Your requests for the next competition are noted, and something appropriate will decided on for the weekend. It's damn hard picking a suitable theme that's malleble enough to accomodate most people's armies/tastes. I want this to be exciting and challanging without it being exclusive to one army, games system or how big anyone's wallet is As always, thanks for getting stuck in, for voting, and for giving us feedback. I can't speak for the others, although a few kind words go a million miles to improving my own determination
