So a friend of mine seems to have issues getting metallic paints to work for him. After walking him through the standard suggestions he thought of trying metallic nail polish. Any opinions, thoughts, concerns with this idea?

Could be a bit too thick, depending on brand and its always gonna be that tacky silver/gold colour with no real depth to it.
Not sure about the actual chemistry of it going on/how it will react with plastic or fine cast. Testing on sprues is advisable.

Just use Vallejo Metallics.
I was go against Nail Varnish, especially when normal pain will suffice.

like cosmic said, vallejo liquid gold... be warned though... its solvent / alcohol based and stinks so bad....
BUT ITS SOOOOOO GOOD!

Oooor just use the normal Vallejo acrylic metallic paints
