Indeed. And if you mean how to field them, I say either drop them in (kinduv risky due to the whole scatter thing...and the x" range) or load them up in a lil transport and find your way towards the nearest patch of space marines!

yeah deepstriking them can be awesomely effective since they can move and throw the charges. a 45pt squad is as cheap as it gets for a throw away unit and deepstriking in next to someone only to deposit a leman russ strength pie plate that can vaporize terminators is pretty awesome when it scores that perfect 'hit.'

If only you could pay some extra points to get a demolisher template hit! Then NOTHING would stand in that thing's way. I've had bad experiences with termies where the battle tank scores multiple wounds...But they all pass their saves

Demo charges are great. Just throw them at large groups and not on tough units. Termies won't bat an eyelash if they get hit by a demo charge. but it'll easily vaporize every other smurf that isn't in a termie armor. So get them in a squad that can get close to the smurf, throw towards the large groups and watch how your opponent starts sweating

Termies won't bat an eyelash if they get hit by a demo charge. but it'll easily vaporize every other smurf that isn't in a termie armor. ho ho, far from it my friend. My opponents start bricking it when a demo charge is on the table. I've had so much fun with these guys i always take them. I have destroyed a 400+ point Dark eldar lord and retinue with 1 shot, a 5 man termie squad with another, a 10 man squad of dire avengers (they have just jumped out of a transport) and i forgot what else. 45 points is an absolute bargain for the havoc these little beauts can cause. If nothing else they draw insane amounts of fire away from everything else. Take last Thursday for example, a 12 man necron warrior squad and lord opened up everything they had at them. The squad died (wasn't expecting anything else really) but that left my surrounding units free to dish out the pain. A major headache for any power armour army.

1 possibility is to take the light infantry doctrine. Then you can infiltrate them and a few other units for a bit of support. You could get them set up within 12 or 18 inches from the start of the game, so might work well. Adds a few points to the squad tho of course, and could interfer with your other doctrines tho.

Demo charge is fun to play! But there is always the risk with dispersion....but for ten points it is given!! And pie plate! You can drop with your squad wherever you like when you are a drop trooper!!Risky but sometimes it is well payed!

i absolutely love this tactic or dropping them right next to your oponents big points guys and watching them squirm. If i want to add a little more fun into it i will do a play by play commentary on what just happened and and what that squad is about to do.( ref: see 50 ways to annoy your oponent) Seriously though, the demo charge to me is best done with drop troops. The risk is kind of exciting with drop troops too couse you never know whats going to happen and you just pray that if they get a bad land that they still land close enough to something that they will hurt badly.

I like the drop trooper idea. 45pts for a nice little ambush (posting point costs of combined elements is ok to my understanding since I'm not typing the point costs for the base unit or the demo charge itself, and thus not technically typing a published point cost - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong however mister woz sir).
