Hope it's ok posting my various projects in seperate threads - figured people who were only into 40k wouldn't want to wade through all this to get to it! To get the ball rolling, my GG entry (last place but some lovely comments in the thread!): Also some close ups of other 6mm figures from when I was experimenting with painting techniques for them: Next, WIP (need shield designs/decals/shading, as well as highlights on the rest of the models) warband for Song of Blades and Heroes (amazing little game!): Leader and warriors: Heavy infantry: Skirmishers: Very excited to get these finished and on the table!

Dude, have you really painted tartan? It would have been rude not to. However, I'm stumped on how to highlight it - might have to just stay as a wash!

I'm as astounded as 3ff3ct!! Great job my friend. I loved the 6mm when I saw them in the competition, and I of course voted for them!

Something new - I've not been here for ages since I've been playing with borrowed 6mm armies and other games, 40k and guard being on the shelf for now. Here's 2 3rds of a Viking force for Saga: Figures are Gripping Beast plastic armoured and unarmoured warriors, and a mixture of Gripping Beast and West Wind archers. Warlord is West wind with a Foundry casualty. I love the open market historical models offer!

Hmmm you've caught my attention with these. It's nice to see some different minis other than future soldiers with guns. They look very well made, I take it they're a lot cheaper than GW?

Thanks for your interest Cosmic! I'll try to get some photos with better lighting and closer so you can see more detail.
The plastic figures were 17 quid for 44/40 respectively, the west wind metals were 6 quid for a blister of 4, and the rest were second hand.

Astoundingly detailed work on your historical miniatures, Badgersplatter.
Is that an Ancient Carthaginian army at the end?

Hi Chem - thanks!
The big project at the end is actually a Kushan army, although I can see how the elephants might confuse things. They were an empire from around 100BC - 200AD, characterised by the superarmoured cataphracts in the middle.

Kush was Southern Egypt/ Sudan.. Wasn't that kind of armour uncomfortably hot for that region?

That's K.u.s.h.i.t.e (Sorry, censored...). Kushan: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kushan_EmpireThey could have chosen a more original name, certainly. Still uncomfortably hot I'm sure, but preferable to an arrow in the spleen!
