Well all morning I've been preparing every single part for Ivorys Salamanders. Upon opening the box of a finecast Damned Legionnaire and removing every part, I heard a rattle as I was about to throw the empty box in the bin. I looked closer and in the bottom of the packet was a the finecast head of Sergeant Chronus...excellent!
Needless to say it'll be taking its place atop a Salamander Marine, but what I want to know is has anyone else had unexpected parts in their kits?

When my friend bought a coloussus from Forge World, they included the sprue for the Leman Russ interior when all he needed was the side armour.

I got some horse in my tesco burgers....? I did get an extra sprue in a space marine kit once, that was pretty awesome. And have had random loose pistols in Forgeworld orders a couple of times. No extra titans though....

Yeah, when I bought a box set of vespids from the local store, it contained an extra vespid. Boz set listed as 6 in box, there were a full 7.

I got an extra Necron Lord arm holding a ResOrb with a Destroyer Lord kit I bought years and years ago, which allowed me to do one of my foot lord with ResOrb conversions. That was pretty neat.

I have ordered things online and had extra unrelated miniatures from another manufacturer also sent to me.
Chronoscope stuff from Reaper Miniatures to be exact.
The warstore sent me a free Ork biker after I contacted them about an order that went missing.
Also one time I ordered 4 Kobolds from a small independant miniature company and they sent me 8

I got a Culexus Assassin head in a pack of 25mm bases once. I think there have been a couple of other incidents, too, but they're not coming to mind right now.

A space marine tech marine back pack thing in a SM battleforce. Very useful until I realised it was a miscast and I had no right to complain.
A tau frame in a box of scouts. That time I could complain, as one scout sprue was missing.

I once ordered from FW and missed the actual mini's. Sadly I was away so didn't notice for ages.

I never assembled it because I don't have an O&G army but I thought it was nice. Haha, I already posted herebefore. I forgoooot!

So last week, I was involved in a massive derp on Forge World's part. I received a package from them. Odd, I thought, as my order had been dispatched only that day. I opened it up and discovered... two packs of Tyranid warrior wings, intended for some poor bloke in Texas. I had ordered a few sets of Chimera track guards. While uncertain what to do about this (and, of course, FW doesn't answer their email. Makes it hard to communicate for a guy who can't make international calls.) I received a call from said Texan yesterday, and we've agreed to simply mail the stuff to each other. He raised the interesting point, however, that FW has shared potentially sensitive personal information with unknown third parties... name, home address, phone number... fortunately, we're both decent, reasonable people (or so he seemed) but it could have gone badly. Good job, FW. Good job.

It's illegal for us to do that at the place I work. A guy I used to work with accidentally sent out stuff meant for the MOD to a company in Aberdeenshire. It had all sorts of sensitive account and payment information on the invoice.
The guy got sacked and then prosecuted and fined.

MOD... Ministry of Defense? Not up on my English acronyms. But yeah, for something like that, I can understand that kind of punishment. This, I don't think anyone should lose their job over, but I'd say FW needs to overhaul their shipping department.

Well, this might fit in here. I went on eBay 10 mins ago to buy a new cable for my iPad, buy two get a third free. Jack pot me thinks. So then I wonder what else in on eBay. "Drop pod" search brings up a drop pod with dreadnought with only one minute remaining.
So, buying a cable for said iPod also includes a drop pod and dred. Happy days.

In one commissar blister I got two bases, other than that, I've not had anything unusual from GW (including miscasts)...

Finally getting around to my models for the first time in years and bought a huge stock of Guard stuff from GW in a fit of enthusiasm. It arrived today and I was surprised to see a harker blister in the package. A note inside the package said it was an apology for the miscast Lord Commissar. I'm wondering why they didn't just replace the miscast.

Anyone have any conversion ideas for a commissar missing his bolt pistol and possessing a half melted leg?

I guess the harker is cheaper and their hoping you still buy another commie.
Replace the gun with something and the leg with a necron leg.. That would look pretty sweet... Make up some fluff for him similar to yariks claw.

Make up some fluff for him similar to yariks claw. They're right, I am going to. The veteran Commissar idea is good. I could bill him as a world-weary former mentor to my current Commissar.
