Heya, atm i've been following the Cadian Doctrine. I like it but theres a few things i dont like about it-not being able to have ratlings or Ogryns. I suppose theres only one way to combat that by making my own doctrine but the cadian one is very good in everything else and ofc i wouldnt be able to call my army Cadian any more. If i made a new doctrine and there are 7 things in the cadian doctrine I would only have 3 things to spend on after getting ogryns and ratlings so it would be no way close to the cadian doctrine. Also i cant call my army Cadian Has any1 got a nice doctrine that they could post that still has the same capabilities of the cadian doctrine and has either ogryns or ratlings in it?

You can call your army whatever you want and use whatever docs you want. Cadia is a huge planet and there will be variations in the Army just like todays armies-
Take the British Army for instance. Look at all the different regiments and the different rolls they play. If you call a Marine a Para and he won't be pleased with you (and vice versa) but they're both in the British Army.
We're only a small island, imagine what it'll be like on a plantery scale.

Haha, no you can't do that lol. That is the point of doctrines. You get upgraded troops but loose some of the diversity.
It all depends on which docs u use in ur cadian force, and which u could drop.
Do you take grenadiers, storm troopers, conscripts, special weapon squads and sanctioned psykers? That is 5 doctrines just buying back unit options. The only actual docs that do any thing are sharp shooters and Iron discipline. So unless you are actually taking all of those troops choices, then drop them.
Possible alternatives, depending on what units u use.
Grenadiers ID Sharpshooters Ogryns Rattlings
You can take STs as troops, leaving all of ur special choices free for ogryns and rattlings.
Personnally, I probably wouldn't take rattlings and ogryns in the same army, if I was going to take ogryns, I'd max out on cc abilities.
Something like this
Chem inhalers Hardened Fighters Ogryns Close order drill (or more likely preists) Light infantry
Upgrade all my squads so they can infiltrate and put the ogryns in a chimera.
Remember that unless you are actually using each doctrine, then having 7 doesn't help. Doesn't matter if you can take preists for example if oyu never do.

I use Sharpshooters Stormtroopers Ogryns

Ratlings Hardened Fighters sharpshooters
Gives the army an interesting mix of pinning shooty, suprise rerolls for anti-tank weapons and a headache if they get into close combat

Training and Abilitis: Light Infantry The regiment comes from a world covered with mountains and they learned to move through difficult terrain
Alternative Regimental Structure: Grenadiers Special MP units that keep up order in the army and are often henchmen for the commissars
Restricted Troops: Supportplatoons The 14. Elyria doesn't use tanks as they're impractical in mountain terrain
Restricted Troops: Abhumans Needed to get the Afriel Strain
Restricted Troops: Afriel Strain I don't use them as the Afriel Strain, they're the "Royal Guard" of the planet and watch out for the members of the royal family
Perhaps I'll change the background a bit more, but the doctrines will stay the same

For my Valhallens i use the docs right out of the book,it fits my style of play that i ahve always used with them but for my drop troops i use these : Drop troops close order drill heavy weapons platoons special weapons platoons carapace armour
For my Talarins i use the docs out of the book.I have only played one game with them so far and infiltrating the entire army of light infantry against the necron player i played didn't work at all.It ws something like this ... Ok i got first turn, i don't move becouse i'm pretty much in rapid fire range already.I open up with 1500 pts of Talarins, hit after hit, wound after wound...a few fall. his turn.. roll for come back... all stand up, movement, shoot, fail cover saves...dead Talarins Just a FYI i guess lol

Ok for my armies
22nd Valhallan Air Borne (sold) Close order drill Hard Fighters Iron Discipline Storm Troopers Conscripts
[these boys where designed to be able to drop from the sky and support themselves once on the ground. the conscripts would be deployed to make up for infantry at the beggining and draw fire from heavies. a list built around strong survivable infantry]
6th Genswick Rifles "City fighters" (sold) Close order Drill Iron Discipline Ratlings Camoline Special Weapons
[these boys had to be fast and able to kill whatever was infront of them. their list was built around being able to have a super fighting force in the city. units would support eachother]
5th Vostroyan Legion [being made] Special Weapons Sharp Shooters Iron Discipline Carparace Armor Hardened Fighters
[designed to be a defensive wall. Always able to survive whatever was thrown at them. they are Legendary fighters and good at shooting. A list built around very strong low number ground pounder infantry, as close to super soldiers as the guard can get.]
36th Terra [never finished] Veterans Close order drill Sharp shooters Iron Discipline Camoline
[built around being very strong city defenders. able to stomp all with their supreme numbers. good strong infantry colloms but will only work if in large #'s.]
hope the following has helped Cheers dethklok

6th Argosy Special Opperations Storm Troopers Grenadiers Chem Inhalers Carapace Armor Drop Troops
Designed for strikes against 'superior' opponents (MEQs), especially in urban and dense terrain environments where cover is plentiful. Once dug into terrain, these guys are almost impossible to rout.
