space wolves terminators indeed don't deep strike, and rather require a droppod to get down. it has to do with their distrust for such technology (first mentioned in the 3rd edition dex, which found also be found floating around on the --- ).

Grey Knights have some neat options, but not being battle brothers kind of ruins it for me.

I find that Dark Eldar work nicely for a gunline list. The fact that they can't hold objectives isn't really an issue, since all they need to do is screw over my opponent's plans in as many ways as they can (which, being Dark Eldar, is a quite extensive list), and the whole "units might not get to do anything due to suspicion" doesn't really matter after turn 1, since they're likely at least halfway across the table by then.

I've been running a Guard gunline with some vets in a Chimera along with Canis Wolfborn and 10 Fenrisian wolves as allies.
Only 265pts and a really only there to charge and disrupt enemy deep strikers and out flankers.
At my last tournie they took out a battlewagon, x2 15 Ork Boys and a deffdread in 4 turns
For my current list I'm running 20 GK termies with Guard allies. Primaris Psyker, vets and x2 Vendettas - so far its been very successful!

Hmm... Fenrisian wolves... hadn't really thought of them. *Eyes random box of Fenrisian wolves sitting on the shelf* They're good for screening and if you space them well can really annoy drop pod armies. Plus if they do get into CC they've got plenty of attacks! Plus if you drop Canis in with them they all strike at I5 Danger Rod

Just be careful with them if you're going second. If you don't watch out, they're a really good way to give up First Blood

Yeah, if thats the case I'm usually looking to place them in cover as much as possible.
What I have found though is that the meta around here are using drop pod to get first blood anyway, so giving them a large wolf unit to deal with can disrupt their plans. Normally they go for a chimera or another soft target with melta guns!
Plus if they dont get first blood then theirs a greater chance of me assaulting them with the remaining wolves!
