So, I've recently delved into the world of creating new models. Although I'm not very proficient at it (kinda suck really), I really like the concept of a sculpting project and I think I'm going to start making models from scratch. I have some art experience but very limited 3d sculpting knowledge. I've started researching miniature sculpting and so far I've found a couple sources that seem to know what they are doing. I'm going to begin sketches and ideas tonight. I'll be buying more sculpting tools this week. If you have ideas of models that you would like to see (could be ANYTHING... not just 40k or imperial guard. Until i get the hang of it the bigger the model the better) post them in this thread. It may not be perfect but I'll get the hang of it eventually. Anyone else interested in starting miniature modeling can start here: www.stormthecastle.com/miniatures/how-to-sculpt-fantasy-miniatures-1.htmTo show that I can actually draw, these are some sketches that I've done over the years. thedge79.deviantart.com/gallery/28998400Help me out guys. I need ideas!

My sculpting isd mostly limited to adding Green Stuff to models. I have yet to try modeling form the ground up. I've recently bought some rubber sculpting tools. Definately different to the metal sculpting tool GW sells. Not sure if that tutorial is the best for reference. Search around for other options, and if you have spare mterial, practice each one. I like your traditional work btw
