Custom MoO WIP

I don't know how effective MoO's are but I like the concept.

Here is my attempt to make a custom one. I have no skills when it comes to free hand modeling, so I didn't use any GS or the likes. This is a simple cut and paste model. Later when I get it painted I will put some pics up, but for now I hope you guys like what I have done so so far.
Feel free to criticize all you want!

Here is the reaper mini I started out with, he's a mad scientist I believe.




Then I took an HK missile, a multiple rocket pod (on his back), and fashioned a remote with a smoke launcher, a vox caster, and a sentinel antenna. I chopped of his hands (then boiled and ate them) and used hands from a command squad to attach the gizmos.

I would get a smaller missile to hold in his hand, this one looks way too silly. The extra missiles from the space marine missile launcher would look much better, or maybe one of the really old HK missiles shortened down to fit the backpack?

Edit: I also suggest giving him a pistol holster (he has a nice open area on the left side of his midriff for that) to make him look more militaristic.

And the backpack needs straps.

I approve of the outrageous concept of an unaugmented human hoisting an HK missile over their head with one hand.

My main complaint about the work so far is that your MoO IS WEARING PANTS! De-pants him so he will match your Commissar. In fact, your entire army should match your Commissar in pantslessness. Do it. You know it will be epic.

As much as I agree with Trooper.... I beleive Req should be the one to do an Army without Pants

Trooper, I like the idea of doing a pantless army, but...
Like I stated above, I don't fair well with free hand modeling, so I have to cut and paste everything. Which means I would have to find enough pantless models to steal legs from, TOO MANY MONIES!

Although picturing this guy with pee stained whities on does seem pretty cool.
I like the holster idea, I'll have to see what I have laying around in my bits.

This does give me an idea, I'll post a pic in a little bit if I'm successful...

Edit: I would classify this as a success!

The only way to learn free hand modeling and working with GS is to get your hands dirty and do it... Dooooooooooooo it.

You should place a sign on his belly "Complaint Department, take a number." Then add a small tag on the grenade's pin with the number one on it.

I have no problem with the size of the missile, it's just that it's totally pointless for him to have *that* particular missile. It doesn't fit his backpack launcher thingie. Now, if he had a backpack launcher full of HK missiles on the other hand...

And I still say he needs more stuff to make him look more militaristic. Right now he just has a regular shirt and some regular pants and a regular coat on. This is where a holster would help. That, and maybe sculpt a Sam Browne from greenstuff, maybe a little aquila as a belt buckle, some stripes doen the side of his trousers, maybe epaulets or shoulder insignia. Etc, etc.

I jsut had a thought. Disarming that crotch grenade would be awkard for bomb disposal units.

I think some of the IG symbols added on the belt buckle and maybe shoulders would look awesome. My grlfriend is out of town this weekend which means I have time for:
40K painting
Drinking
Starcraft
