1019th fighter squadron thunderbolt

i was looking through the Imperial armour aeronautica book and came across the art work for a thunderbolt, so i thought id try it. so far the kits arrived and is built and base coated. just waiting on the paints to arrive and well get started! pretty excited

nothings been painted so far, im starting the pilot tonight.

The thunderbolt didn't come with a stand nor a clear canopy, are you thinking of adding them?

If so, a sheet of clear dura lar would be best for the canopy windows, you just have to cut to fit each section, can be a pain but its worth it. You can get it at local hobby lobby stores.

For the stand: I went with a online shop called dragonforge:

they came with a sheet of plastic to cut out for the windows. but im gonna leave it without the plastic to see the pilot

for the flying base, i ordered a Imperial Aeronautica chaos hell talon, knocked off a wing and made it look like it was shot down. im going to put a series of sand layers to make it look like it was hit, and then skidded to a halt several meters away as the tunderbolt screams over its lastest kill
