Im guessing hes using grey then a light grey highlight then another grey and another highlight ontop... Looks good Afraid an amature cant be more help than that

No worries man you are probably right. Its just the fatigues seem lighter than fenris grey and the armour is more like the fang, which is basically what my guard are like. But my fatigues just look too patchy

Couple of coats. Could be over a white base.
Most likely a few thin layers built up.

^ this, although the base coat is probably grey I imagine. The lasgun is probably the primer colour.
I'm still in Old GW paints, although Id use Adeptus Battlegrey for the armour (the foundation one) and 50/50 codex/fortress grey for the fatigues.
A wash and a highlight and I think that'd be pretty close.

The primer is most likely black, then the guns are codex grey with fortress grey highlight, fatigue is astronomical grey with light blue wash, armor is shadow grey with black wash.
