I recently had an idea in regards to the old bread and butter of the IG Codex, the Psyker Battle Squad. In 5th edition, its ability to lessen resolve was completely priceless to the IG power, and most of us would deploy inside a Chimera for added protection. It truly was a golden age.
Then 6th came, and there was the ruling that unless a power was a witchfire, it could not be used inside a vehicle. Overnight, PSB's disappeared. They no longer seemed to be as effective as they once were without their protection.
Well, I had an Epiphany recently. A Chimera was 55 points... an Aegis is 50 points. Stick the PSB behind it., go to ground when needed. Use orders to get back in the fight as needed. I know that they would not be able to snapfire their Soulstorm large blast ability, but could their lessen resolve be used if the PSB went to ground?
Its a theory at any rate and one I will explore at least.

when you're going to ground you can pretty much do nothign besides trying to dig yourself into the ground untill your fingernails are bleeding. i've never bothered with a PBS, how do you typically field yours? how many do you take etc?

I don't think Psychic Powers can be used by a Unit that's gone to ground. Don't have my rulebook with me to check, tho.
However, the PBS gained hugely from the 6th Ed LoS/Wound Allocation Rules. Models that can't be seen aren't eligible to be removed as casualties, and only one Psyker needs LoS to the Target Unit, so you can hide them behind a tank or something, and have just one Psyker step out to fire off a power, while the rest remain safely hidden.
I believe that you can even use Weaken Resolve and then Run back out of LoS, since it's not a Shooting Attack, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
EDIT: Back home, checked my Rulebooks, both of those bits are correct.
