What did you do to my plane?!!?! Scared the crap out of me when I saw you'd taken it apart, until you put it back together that is.

Definitely not the same picture. I like that it was soaked in alcohol. Now the cockpit will smell like a real life pilot has been in there.

Oh ye of little faith... So I've had a cup of coffe and a play around, and got my head around how this will work in resin. Lego is great as it can be taken apart and put together again. Resin, to a certain extrent, cannot. I need to be able to make this so it can be glued and support itself, rather than having to be 'built' in lots of little bits like lego is. The first bit of this will depend a lot on which pieces I mold and cast, as it'll be much harder to stick lots of funny shaped bits of resin together than it would a few nicely shaped ones The 'tail lump' is one big solid piece, with no wierd dangly bits or gaps that will be hard to mold. That'll be done on one piece. There is a smaller 'tail lump' that had some space inside it. This would be a major pain in the bum to mold and cast, as the rubber would get inside and break the piece when taking it out (or the mold would tear). I could mold and cast it as two pieces, although for the size of it, I don't think it's worth it. I filled the inside space with some Lego of my own The next bit was a bit trickier, as it was the main body. This will be the biggest and weightiest bit, and will have to be sturdy enough to support the other pieces. A bit of fiddling and swapping some parts and i came up with a solution. I took out the red bit and replaced it with some other parts. Foster had left a little gap when he made the original. I swapped a few bricks in and made a 'tab' that, when cleaned up, will slot into the main body. The two pieces are now more managable for molding and casting, and should fit well to provide some stability when building the finished model. The boat-looking bit will be fine for molding and casting, although the larger piece was a warren of gaps. As mentioned, these make it a lot more difficult to mold and cast (not impossible, although much more fiddly) and the finished piece would be much more likely to warp, due to the thin lower part. A few extra bits soon plugged them up and the piece is now much more solid. So this is what the T-Bolt looks like in all the main pieces And just so Foster can sleep better at night, here it is put back together (to an extent, as the 'pin' on the body bit stops the bits going back together completely) I'm now going to have some breakfast and another brew, and will start making the molds! I might not add as many pictures, as one pile of squidgy plasticine looks the same as the next one

Don't worry I have faith in you, though the wife thought it would be funny if you forgot how to put it back together.
I like the photo of it in its component pieces, give an idea of what the final pieces will look like.

At first I wasn't sure how it'd work, although now I've 'resinized' it in my head I'm really excited to get it done! Molds are molding currently

Thanks syphon, it still needs the details doing on it but it will be easier to do it on the resin master than the lego prototype.
And I'm sure 3ff3ct will be able to do the casting justice.
