Hi everyone! So after a six year 'hobby break', I've decided to get back into it, with an IG army. I'm aiming for the look/feel of a regiment cut out for urban warfare, with plenty of snipers, heavy weapons and light vehicles. I thought I'd post a WIP of my first mini, a junior officer, and would welcome any C&C. In particular, what colour do people think I should paint the pouches and grenades? Also the mouth looks wrong, but I can't work out why...does he need teeth?

nice job so far, my guard have some similar colors and I left the grenades grey with highlights and metal on the pins, the canteen pouch I painted brown-leather. The sgt's powersword could use some more detail, some silver highlights and a wash of purple maybe.

Teeth would be good. An exellent start, very neatly done and well executed I'd agree with a colour wash and highlights on the sword, I use a blue wash with lighter silver highlight.

The ice camo is brilliant. Jaw-dropping miniature.

Thanks for the comments guys. I agree about the sword, in that photo it has only had a basecoat and black wash. The sword blade will be the last thing I do, because I keep wearing the paint off the tip as I hold the mini while painting I settled on green for the pouches, trying to make him look a little bit more soldier-like.

Nice, thorough, clean work here. Great job and welcome. Will this turn into a full blown army blog? I hope it does!

Hey all, My first vehicle is 99% built. It's taken me a long time to build because I've been fiddling around with it, to make it fit with the urban theme. Now that I'm happy with the pattern, the next one should be much quicker (I hope!) The modifications I've added are; - grills over the vents in the side armour to stop grenades being shoved into the engines
- a heavy stubber for shooting at enemies in upper storeys/rooftops, with a shield to offer some protection to the gunner
- replaced the fragile looking hull lasguns with armoured hatches for the crew to use their own weapons
- a big pair of headlights
- shortened track guards
Also I added a minimal amount of stores from the accessory sprue and a turret bin and some rivets to bulk up the turret and make it match the rest of the vehicle better. All I need now is some spare track links and a handle for the turret bin.

Great custom work there.
It's always the small changes that make the biggest impact. Has the painting been started yet?

Seconded, it looks great already.
A good paint job (which I'm more than certain you can pull off) and this will be amazing.
Where do you get your plasticard, just out of interest? I'm finding it hard to replenish my supplies as the website I usually use is out of stock.

Unfortunately a busy bank holiday means that there's no more paint on it since the last pic I did find a spare handle for the turret bin, and glued on the turret hatch and gunner's head, so no excuses not to get on with it now! I also got round to stripping the paint off an eBay kasrkin squad so looking forward to painting them. 3ff3ct, I got my plasticard from the Antics shop in Bristol, there's probably cheaper places but I wanted to get it there and then, rather than waiting on postage.
