Thank you all for your input. It's nice to know someone may be interested in what I'm doing. ;P they're currently broken in a box Just like my Guardsman ;P And speaking of broken Eldars - DA heads ready to paint: And primed: Now some shading, drybrushing then layer of white and varnish and... we will see... Some photos of primed DR: and their weapons: I was trying to do preshading here but I'm not a master of airbrush so I overbrushed it. At least I know what I can do better next time. Now all I can do is to highlight it traditional way - with brushes. ;p Hope to finish this squad and all heads to Thursday when I have day off, so I can use airbrush again to prime DA. Wish me luck, I will need it. 'Till next update. Cheers, guys.

Great start, Batou I would say thin your paints a tad more, but then again I know that close up photos show flaws that we find hard to see ourselves so it could just be that. Have you got your hands on a Wraithknight yet?

Nope, didn't have Wraithknight yet. I don't know if I ever will... For now I just want to finish those elves and probably go back to my guard... Time will tell. As for thinning paint, I also think that the red one could be a little thinner but I've added glaze medium to it and didn't know if I can thinn it down with water or something... In reality it doesn't look that bad (guns on those photos are 3-4 times bigger) but I hope it will lok even better after varnish.

Not too much to show for now - just a test Dark Reaper. I've nearly finished their weapons, they need a coat of varnish (will do it tomorrow). Anyway, here are the pictures: And a little change to the original concept - I painted that weapon mount (or how to call it) with boltgun instead of black: For now I'm thinking if leave it as it is or repaint it as I think it came a little too blue-ish. What do you all think? Help... ;p

Nah the blueness is really good... you seem to have the knack for highlighting black...

Thanks for your reply, Ashot, but I've already repainted it. I have to fully finish this suqad and there's still a lot to do, so wish me luck. More pics to come tomorrow.

Are you guys still there? I am. Whats more, I've got some new photos for you all to see. It's probably the last update of them before the gallery (hope it'll be tomorrow). Anyway - watch and comment, please. Hope you like them. Next on the painting desk is first squad of Dire Avengers. They're already primed and basecoated, but I don't have pictures of them for now. I don't think theres much to see anyway. ;p Will post some pictures when something more will be done on them. So that's all for now. Batou out.

Hi guys! How have you been? I was busy with my work and real life, as are all of us I think... Anyway, I found some time to paint few space elves. I started with Dire Avengers (I wanted to pait them first), but couldn't get good mixes of blue paints for them, so I switched to Striking Scorpions. After some paint tests I have colours that I'm happy off, so painting have started. For now two of them need the second layer of highlights, will do it tomorrow (I hope) and then time for few more colours. But enough talking, time for some pictures: And with blue background: I really need your honestly opinions, as I'm not too sure if I'm going in good direction, so I'm waiting for C&C. Cheers, Batou.

Wow! These are looking really nice, and are giving me ideas for my Sphess Elfs. Sorry for not commenting sooner--this thread started around the time one of my dogs was dying at the start of summer, and due to the distracted state I was in I missed it...
