Moar you say? The next game was a rematch against the Templar plaeyr from the first game, I was pretty pleased about this since he was a pretty chill guy to play and I Templar vs Ork games can be quite interesting. We were playing on a table set up for 15mm games so we made sure to workj out what we considered to be cover at the start. Most of the board was difficult terrain which made the road and the railway line important. The road/rail also gave vehicles an old school +6" move bonus and the the middle of each was worth 3 victory points. Looking at my kill point aden army and his minimal KP force (9) I realised I'd either have to play to table him or play to take control of the roads while not bleading too many kill points. His ground force consisted of three Landraiders with squads inside and his air force was an empty Storm Raven. The Landraiders meant he was pretty safe from me until I actually made it across the board but he started of with only three units on the board, making it possible to isolate them. I placed most of my forces on the left to make a quick push up the railway, these were the units that would sit on the right flank and stand off against the crusader there, ready to grad the objective later. The kans were sent to shuffle up the middle and take pot shots at the standard Landraider with the bolter crusade squad in it. Of course they just ended up as Landraider target practice but there wasn't too much I could do with them while keeping them useful. And the rest got sent up the rail line to overpower the Emperor's Champion and his Landraider squad. i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll271/Empty_Hat/armageddon2013/P1000671_zps82b12030.jpgHe was using an event character, Captain Cane/Cain, who gave the army +1 ws and gave everyone righteous zeal(?) Cracked open the first Landraider with the boyz, who then got smashed up by the explosion and wiped out by the Templars inside. After that all my dakkajets arrived at once and I waaagh'd. I turned all three on the EC's squad, and the EC was the closest model to them too, mwahahahaha. As it happened though the only time this guy was rolling ones was for his look out sirs, so the total casualties were two neophytes and one space marine Well, I still had all those big shootas, so I opened up with those trying to gain an edge for the CC to follow. The power armour must have been swiss cheese after the supa shootas because this time the guy couldn't make a power armour save and the squad was utterly gunned down leaving my otther mob of boyz to camp the objective. i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll271/Empty_Hat/armageddon2013/P1000678_zps62f8ceac.jpgTurns were running out and I had to decide if I could table him, or win on points. A bunch of my units had been destroyed but as long as I could hold one bridge and deny him the other I could win but given how spread out his force was it would be very risky to chase him down and we were over-running into the lunch break so I went with points. I kept the boyz on the railway objective and my bike boss squad hung out there too, waiting to claim linebreaker. Things on the right flank had been going poorly though, the mega nobz and looted wagon had been destroyed and the deffkoptas had been cut down to one model which was legging it. I'd also lost my trukk which had taken half the boyz inside in the explosion but if I could kill of the 5 man terminator assault squad (6 with cain) I could contest the objective and win. So I turned my firepower on them hoping to gun them down. The plan on the left (where all the enemy were dead) was working perfectly. But although I killed all but one terminator and Cain my opponent had switched back to 'roll no ones' mode, he started shooting down my dakkajets instead. (Note, that Raven is still alive, there is just no way he could balance the very fancy flyer base there) By turn five he had both bridges and it was looking unlikely that I could contest the right hand road, and I would still loose on kp even if I did. My stomach was grumbling pretty hard at this point so I opted to shake hands and go for some food (sadly 3ff3ct had eaten the entire buffet, probably by himself) .................... There was one more game of the weekend, a 2000 point doubles. I've only got the two pictures from it and I've got to scoot to work so maybe 3ff3ct can fill you in.

Thanks for the amazing pictures, you've really captured the event! Thanks dude. Do you have a photo of 3ff3ct getting the best sportsman award? I'm guessing you have a photo thread on your TGTBTB board.

I turn my back for a few days and my thread gets totally jacked! You got some great pics Empty, cheers for sticking them up! I'm up early so thought I'd make the best use of my time (?) and get the rest of the pictures up. Apologies for creating a Dr.Who style time paradigm as some of the photos will be of events occuring before the end of Empty's photos.... My 2k Singles Vs. Imperial Guard (Prilla's Penile Legion) Please note that the guard actually reversed out of intimidation! I think his words were @oh crap, they're getting closer!' A tiny toilet! 2k Doubles: Most Epic Game Ever! Too bad I only got a couple of photos 2k Singles: The Most Dead Stuff Ever. This guy didn't hold back at all, and despite his horrendously scary Death Company, I managed to kill all his army off and claim objectives through consolidation to win the game. The first time I've tabled somebody (Turn 4) and he was a great sport too! Da Kanz Advance... This happened in the game next to me: Blood Angels deep striking a squad at a time into the midst of a Tau gunline. It didn't end well for the Angels... The dreads pretty much ate everything. They'll be getting trophy racks with some red helmets when I get around to doing it... 2K Doubles With The IGMB Tagteam Me and Empty Vs. Black Templars and Eldar D-Weapon NightmareA thorough arse kicking by both of us, with hillarious results. I was faced off against Danny's Eldar, and Empty against the Templars. Lots of high strength templates all over the place, and we suffered as a result. Empty managed to kill more of my Orks through vehicles exploding than he killed marines, as in turn one all his wagons and trukks where annihilated! Rather funny! I, however, managed to survive all mu Kanz being D-Weaponed to get the dreads and boyz into the Eldar in the last turn, more out of spite and revenge than to any real gain! The Eldar player really knew his army and played brilliantly, and was really keen to discuss the rules of his Forgeworld D-Weapon nasties, which made the game much more fun for me. I didn't really speak to the Templar player as I was too busy taking models off the board! Sliding doors of the Automatic Aegis; 'Doors Opening!' 'Mind The Gap!' After that game we had awards, and then we all said our goodbyes. I then had a 7 hour drive home, which made me want to cry a bit. Well worth the trip down, and I'd highly recommend the next proposed event (possibly Macharius Crusade: What Macharius Did Next....) to anyone that likes rolling lots of dice, nicely painted armies, fun opponents and loads of stuff blowing up everywhere. Another big thanks to Dean and Mike and all the guys who attended for a cracking weekend!

All of the boards you played on look so cool! If I ever start another army I shall have to start playing properly. Do you not have your guard anymore? They'd have looked sweet at the event and it wasn't the kind of cut throat environment where you had to know everything. 3ff3ct: Thanks for posting the Praetorian blog, I remember that he said he kept an IC log of games and I want to read about his heroic defence of that damned factory (at my expense). It's a shame you didn't ask to borrow my camera for your most epic game, I wasn't using it much at the time and I was only around to watch the end, when I was too tired to think of taking photos.

still no updates?! I wasn't sure about the event (sorry Prilla) but it does look a good event, not sure how much they can take credit for the looks but good to see those that went enjoyed it. How many of the IGMB went? think getting reviews off of those people might help in next events Prilla? or just flagging pages like this for future reference

As an IG player whom has a certain distaste for Orks (the fiction for IG & Orks is my favourite) I must say that Ork army looks the business! And this event is really going down! Thanks for the inspiration to hurry up and get my army's worth painted up because all together this thread is just awesome Really makes me wish I could have attended such an event. Maybe when I get my army painted up I can attend an event with multiple forum members just like this.

I found it a real motivation to get my Orks painted having something to paint them for. It was a great weekend and a great way of meeting new players.
Dean/Prilla is apparently working on another weekend, which from the sounds of it will involve Mr.Macharius and his journey out of the galaxy.... Crazy stuff indeed!
After how great this weekend was, I'll more than likely be having a drive down when it's on!
