Hey guys
I'm working on getting some mini conversions armed with autoguns. Are they identical to lasguns, or do I have to upgrade guardsmen for them? Any special rules attached to them? Thanks!

Nothing different to lasguns sadly. The FW autoguns are pretty cool, but then again, they cost a godless fortune.
Post some pics when you're done!

Thanks guys! I was thinking that since my army has a quasi-mercenary feel to it, I was going to arm some of my hardened veterans with autoguns. This definitely helps things through!

Yeppers!
Post some pics when your done, also, try clipping the mag from a bolter and putting it onto the las, it looks so cool, looks almost like an AK if ya do it right.

I'm doing the mercanery guard look too. Gonna buy some forgeworld kits, maybe some necromunda too.

If you take the lasgun, clip off the power pack, slap on a bolter magizine, in addition to cutting off the end of the lasgun barrel and putting some round stock (rods of plasticard) there, it'll look spot on.
also, try clipping down the overall length of the lasgun and use the above methods. it makes them look like MP5s

a very quick and unprofessionally done tutorial for turning lasguns into what i imagine AK 47s look like in the 41st millennium. I'll update this later with some actual pictures if enough people are interested..

In theory this is an amazing idea, but in practice a little to fiddly for my liking.

I really like that idea it could even work, but its always tricky to convert such small parts, but keep it up, and try to do that lasgun/ak 47 with real parts and then post a pic how you done with it. Keep it up

Yeah, the small parts would be super tricky. Fiddle with it.

Love the look of the AK but as everyone has said I kinda think it would be too tricky to do. But I mean if you have the patience of a saint by all means do it.

Okay, here's the deal: I made one of the guns i made plans for, and it took me six minutes from a cold start. It's really not that bad to make, and if you're working on a bunch at a time, you can probably get done with ten or twelve within a couple of minutes.
I'll post pictures as soon as I can -- or, rather, as soon as my camera lets me focus on the damn thing...

But isn't becoming quite expensive, since you'll need lots of boltguns?

Well then bitz order a sprue full of bolters! Its not hard and if you also play marines your in luck.

Too bad that there are only 5 boltguns per sprue. So still quite expensive and when you play marines you can only use them when you equip your guys with Boltpistol and CC weapon.

Hey guys, if someone need bolguns, I have loads to send!!! I got them when I did my first Elysian conversions, I ordered lots of SM arms (I needed the forearm to make gauntlets for the carapace armour) and got the boltgun...So if someone is interested, I could do something but you will have to wait until february when I come back from Bora Bora (see underhive...)...
See you guys!

I found another nice way to make autoguns (strangely I use nearly the same caliber than the AKs (7,62x39) are in. I use the M14 7,62x51 as sample. Perhaps you have seen it in some movies before. The magazines look really similar to that of a lasgun. Only thing you need to do is filling the "lines" on the power pack and cutting down that piece below the power pack, so that you get a nice and smooth sureface.
I use the method of creating handles from Ciaphas Cain, and I also cut down the complete front half of the Cadian lasgun and add a new barrel. So my autoguns look a bit of hybrid between Famas, M14 and G36C but it looks quite nice and is really simple. I'll try to get some pics up after holidays
