Uh, 50 meters comes to about 25" tabletop scale. Yeah, it would be tall, but I wouldn't call it table-sized...

25"...
Well, a Reaver Titan is 18" high.
A Warlord would be around 24" according to a google image search, so as tall or a little taller than a Warlord Titan.
And then fitting 2 two full companies of either infantry or tanks within its hold.
If that's tanks that's between 24 and 48 leman russ... plus any supporting mechanised units.
Okay... so it would mean it was a smaller table, but not tiny!

But why, dougeye?
Think of all that you can do with a MoF list, Iron Hands chapter tactics (to give dreads IWND), some drop pods and a couple of tac squads.

Well we've all seen the new Knights by now, but I've just read the description on the website and couldn't help but laugh at this statement......
'Fully jointed at the head, arms and waist this kit allows you to create some wonderful poses'
HA! Wonderful poses composed of everyone having the same leg stance and either just turning the body to the left or the right? Sounds wonderful! *sigh*
I'm in two minds about the new kits GW are throwing out there. On one side they are getting better in things like detail, however, a lot of the new releases are so static it's unbearable. And the whole 'two kits in one' interchangeability is really hampering the ability to create individual models. The fact that they also don't seem to be encouraging people to kit bash or customise their models as much now either is a real shame. All the armies shown in the White Dwarf battle reports are just bog standard, straight out of the box and show no ingenuity.

That's what I loved about the Warhound, the intricacy of the toes! So many options! And remember, they're meant to walk on their toes like a bird, not flat on their feet :-)

I think sometimes we forget that some of us are excellent hobbyists and really excel at customizing kits like this
I know a lot of guys who love the hobby but can't paint or model for poop, they just want awesome models and play some games
I'll be getting one, maybe another two after that (eventually) and I'll be customizing the legs and pose as much as possible. If you look carefully at the molds on the GW website, it looks like it should be quite easy to switch up the pose

wait, GWS has become so expensive that they now sell the supper heavies and forge world sell the infantry squads? O.o
Oh the irony is I'm good at building, i love making things, hell i have around 18 projects I've typed up to work on and done the research in to sourceing the materials, models and paints. Want to know how many are from GWS? even my 40k stuff is from other retailers. I'd rather go forge world for 40k, at least you know what you get and has some options from a single unit. I'm terrible at painting, i look at this kit and see very few conversions I'd like to do and it looks like a painting nightmare.
not complaining about having extra bits left over from kits but just annoying as hell to have such large components you can't easily use up, it's not like a left over lasrifle or bolter -_-

so.. what sort of cost do you think these will be? Its interesting that DreamForge have a sale on right now.. might have to get one of those lovely leviathans if there's going to be some official Knight rules coming out. dreamforge-games.com/collections/types?q=Leviathans

each to their own but id still rather have a GW knight over those leviathans any day of the week, they remind me of armour sets you can get in games like fable lol yes I know cost is a concern for some people but everything is overpriced if we are honest.

Just got the latest White Dwarf with all the photos and rules, and I've got to say that the Knight kit looks amazeballs. I'm already planning on making a Freeblade based on Captain Harlock from the eponymous 1970's anime...

im interested to see the dex associated with them and the allies table etc. Base rules in White Dwarf are that you can field them as their own detachment of 3 - 6 Knights, or as Allies--with up to 3 Knights--for each primary detachment in your force. Guessing that all Imperial factions will be able to take them. It will be interesting to see what, if any Xenos will be able to ally with them, since it mentions in the background that the origin of the Knights was pre-Imperial during the Dark Age of Technology, and they served to protect human colonists from marauding Orks and Eldar...

I doubt that they can... Yet. We'll have to wait for GW to make a superheavy landing pod. I may also have to do a Shin Kazama (from the Area 88 manga/anime) themed Freeblade, as I think the horse decals from the stock transfer sheet can be turned into the heraldry he had applied to his aircraft with a little bit of freehand work.

Well, in the HH books, there is specific reference made to a drop pod for Emperor Class Titans... And I believe there are also landing barges that are used to deploy multiple Titans.
