I have just seen this, and as far as I'm aware, there are no restrictions. Only on solvent based and flammable paints. I went to a training session on Dangerous Goods for the post office as Royal Mail have indeed gotten very hot on it and nothing has been said that water based paints can't be sent. I have never seen that restriction on the link before. It's a confusing one.

So they only want people to get 3 pots at a time?
I'll bet 'destroyed' in this context means confiscated and redistributed to loyal staff members.

it only refers to NAIL VARNISH, POLISH & GEL'S and as paint are infact none of those and it is not explicitly stated that paints are included, i see no reason for them to actually destroy them, maybe we'll just have to send paint with little stickers saying paint and not nail varnish and the such

Right at the bootom of this link; www.royalmail.com/business/help-and-support/tell-me-about-restricted-goods" Water-based paints, wood varnishes and enamels The items must be securely closed and placed in a leak-proof liner, such as a sealed polythene bag, so that any inadvertent leakage is contained within the outer packaging. Surround with absorbent material such as newspaper and sufficient cushioning material to protect each item from damage. Volume per item should not exceed 150ml. No more than four items can be sent in any one package. The sender’s name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging."

I guess it's the same thoughts behind airline hand luggage restrictions on liquids. Sounds a bit daft to me.

So unless I find a retailer somewhere in my kingdom, I'll never make the switch to Vallejo if I want to be more cost effective? Sigh.

I imagine it'd be up to the retailer to sort out the P&P conundrum. I think that the royal mail will loose a lot of buisness/recieve lots of complaints as a result of this.

Does anyone know if this is still in effect? I ordered a number of the web-only paints from GW thinking that they delivered by a non-Royal Mail courier but the package that arrived (unmolested) was handled by RM.
