Anything with a spider's spirit should be purged. Careful. Spiders are Rook's spirit animal, and I sure as heck wouldn't recommend purging him. |

It's supposed to be a mule, it just feels like a spider.
That's the weird thing when you read the entry for the vehicle. They start blathering on about how mules/ onagers (donkeys basically) are part of the history of Mars and the first ever techo-traveller caravans and donkeys were their thing. And then it looks like a spider.

And then it looks like a spider. To be fair, they may have done some whacked out modification to the donkeys before they stuffed them on the rocket and shot them to mars. You can never can be sure with those techo-travellers. On a related note, any sort of donkey/mule is pretty high on my list of "animals I wouldn't want to bring in a space rocket". |

Speaking of SM conversions. My friend plays BA and I have a bunch small bases from that WARMACHINE game that I got talked into with little satisfaction.... anyway, the small bases for that game are VERY similar in size to the new space marines size.
So I'm using the WM figurines for conversions into 40k & saving him a buck by throwing him the bases.
That aside, your conversions are pretty sweet. Got anything planned to convert the big bot? I'm not too keen on rebasing my painted stuff, just the mech army and any future armies. Looking at bitz sites the official 32mm bases are still a bit too expensive compared to the 25s but that will probably change over time and eventually they'll be cheaper on bitz sites than in the gw online store; give it a year or so... All I need to get is 50 or so for the time being but want the official ones; those PP bases are a bit more rounded at the sides, I believe.. My datasmith is the first 32mm base model assembled; that was a good model. So you're not too keen on rebasing your stuff but looking at the prices of new bases anyway?  Now that this bit of interjected hypocrisy has completely escaped me (thankfully) I'll address your other point about how my warmahordes = new space marine bases conversion isn't as awesome and creative as I've sold it to be, which is uhhhh... oh yes! they are a bit more rounded. Well I've been shot at, left to die by my own, and my family hates my guts and will stop at nothing to have me locked away in prison as a way of controlling me if they can't succeed at surgically removing my testicles. <femminists! So if something as insignificant & petty as "rounded bases" is even worth an ounce of your concern I would recommend that you get a life. Your priorities are obviously borderline disillusional and you should immediately seek help because you are what is wrong with the world. Further more I would challenge you to come up with a lamer, more limp wristed excuse for pessimism. If you were to try you would fail and come up with a real reason or something close to...  |

 So a little green stuff and !WAM! I'm actually able to use the bases from a game I no longer wish to play! Well I'm not but one of my local space marine players will save a few bucks.  It was really relaxing to convert these, please... somebody else crap on my efforts with the cheapest brand of negativity they couldn't afford. |

Quite a rant. You seem to be forgetting that this is a hobby (which should be enjoyable) and if somebody doesn't want to do something then why should they do it? I thought the joke was that he was away on business and having an affair, that the lady has become aware of, and he asks her to sell the car to provide him with funds for running away with said other woman, and the wife does so but sells it to a nice young man for $50 and mails him the $50. It isn't really hypocrisy anyway, unless Chem was into the new bases from the start. I recall him feeling like it was going to be a swindle of his time and money from the start. But hey, at least discussing your issues with rebasing your space marines in a thread you created to discuss working on your space marines is on topic... unlike say, not doing that. ........ I still think double basing them is the way to go. It's what I'm doing with my Flash Gitz and I guess if I ever field my BT army with any regularity in the future it'll be what I do for them. |
