I got inspired by the November White Dwarf to try out an interesting conversion for a librarian. The inspirational models were : Sons of Orar librarian by Keith Robertson and White Scars captain by Kornel Kozak and this is a fusion of both conversions.

While on its own is good, your posing needs work. He is leaning backwards giving him an awkward stance and his pistol is tilted to the wrong side. I personally would've used Green Stuff instead of.... whatever metal cabling that is ... as you have more control, and you're able to impart your own detail. Had you used some Plasticard to raise him off the base, and kept the sword the same just tilted down a bit, he would have looked boss! This is just my opinion however, and do say if I've been too harsh. A note on mini photography. Don't be afraid of deleting the unused space either side or around the model. It greatly reduces file sizes and of course uses less space on forums for viewing

No, that's great. I love suggestions. You mean plasticard under his feet, cut to measure to make him taller?
Actually the wires did interfere with the pose and were really awkward to get in place. The daemon head is also glued at a wrong angle, so that needs to be green stuffed. And it needs to stop raining because I need to do some spraying.

Not sure if i agree with you.. i't might look like he is stomping down the sword while firing his gun at some unseen enemy, explaining the 'lean back' pose..
it's really all about perspective.
but i do agree on the copper wire..not sure if that's gonna work..

He's still wip, though..

If he was "Stomping down" on the head, he would be leaning forward to maximize the force of the blow. Using the game "Space Marine" we can assume Marines don't feel Kickback from pistols and other weapons, so they wouldn't need to lean back to minimize recoil. I can agree that what works in my mind, may not work in yours, but above is just how I'd reason the posing if I was the modeler behind it

I like it, and I think this is a spiffy conversion. The Forcesword going into the Plaguebearer's head is a neat touch. For the cabling, you could possibly take some wire and pull out the copper and then use the rubber casing instead, but I think the bare metal looks neat...

Oh, cheers. You might be able to spot him in the bat-rep before he got hit by an earthshaker round: Battle report

Aella. Wolf Guard Battle Leader with frost sword and storm shield. The bitz - space wolf pack head (the topknot one that looks a bit like Ragnar), chaos warrior torso (chop the legs off with a heavy blade), space wolf pack legs, black templar power axe right arm (modified to make the shield arm), old space wolf power sword left arm, space wolf pack backpack and totem top, wolf guard terminator storm shield. All credit to this blogger for the idea : this is my second one. The first, from back when the t/wolves were released, is going to be a Long Fang Ancient. Space Wolf blog - pre heresy conversionsOsbert. WGBL with frost axe and storm shield.

You... YOU CONVERTED KROM, A "LIMITED EDITION" MINI TO MAKE A CUSTOM WGBL? I salute you, Sir, for the nads that took. He looks impressively awesome... I think the supa-bearded WGBL should be the Warlord, as "'Eez got dat mega fayshul 'air." (Edited when I realized that he wasn't wearing Termie armor.)

The WG needs a pair of the angriest eyebrows to accompany the rest of that look.

I think the supa-bearded WGBL should be the Warlord, as "'Eez got dat mega fayshul 'air." (Edited when I realized that he wasn't wearing Termie armor.) The only changes were removing the tiny wolf pelt from his badge (and then sticking it onto the other WGBL's hairy posterior), a head swap and chopping the boltpistol hand off and replacing with a storm shield, which was minor chopping. I still have Krom's head. He's going to be a Blood Claw one day Someone in the house ordered me to make the other one the warlord. What I might do is dice it off between them every game. The wolf lord never specified which WGBL was in actual command so they constantly bicker over command of part of the Great Company. The WG needs a pair of the angriest eyebrows to accompany the rest of that look. Yes. A caterpillar monobrow. It would have to be red hair, like the drunken slaver from Conan.

As I was telling Trooper, my ltd ed wolf lord fell off a shelf, couldn't find him for an hour, then when I found him he was missing his stormshield - which is still missing! So he got promoted to Wolf lord; just need to decide on a new hand/ weapon. In the meantime here is Osbert the WGBL mk 2 - now with wolf claw & stormshield, with extra fur. Edit - I've now got milliput in black, terracotta and yellow.

Edit; hmm the 2nd picture is blurred. Damn phone cameras. I'll have to take another after he get a gs monobrow and some minor fixing to the top of the cloak.

*Obi-wan Kenobi voice* "So uncivilized..." Because actually winning the fight with the weapon at hand in stead of dying is dreadful!

Looking good. I may be teaching you to suck eggs but make sure you seal the exposed foam (with something like PVA glue) if you are going to spray the ruins. Foam has a nasty habit of dissolving when met with spray paint.

Swankier than the ruins I was going to provide for our game (had it dried in time) Thanks. I want to make an entire ruined city so I need to get lots of that grey textured paint. Looking good. I may be teaching you to suck eggs but make sure you seal the exposed foam (with something like PVA glue) if you are going to spray the ruins. Foam has a nasty habit of dissolving when met with spray paint. Thanks for the heads up, Dazza. I found out about this the hard way in (circa) 1989 when I painted my Citadel Mighty Fortress with Emulsion paint and the polystyrene literally melted. I don't know if I still have the melted walls and towers but I saw the plastic doors, trap doors and ladders from the set the other day. It was one of the most gutting moments of my life. I think the fortress was £35 back in the late 80s.

That must have been horrible.
Did it melt before your eyes or while you were waiting for it to dry?
