I like this a lot.
A fearsome defensive army.
Stormtalon's are great AA but will die if they come on the player turn before an enemy flyer. They have the ability to shoot other planes even once they have passed them due to 360 degree assault cannon. I also like skyhammers as it provides best synergy with the AC.
Against AV14 this army will struggle a little, only the lascannon threatens at range, and everything else has to walk toward it. Any way to get more lascannons in there?

Good suggestion, Tread. I;m glad this list has the Tread seal of approval.. Substituted the level 2 psyker for something more useful; a bare bones 5 man 'armour sniper' squad with a lascannon. I also swapped out the plasma guns for grav guns, which I think are better VS monsters and heavily armoured infantry. Being salvo weaops they get 3 shot in the 18" range if they're stationary and a 1/6 chance of immobilising a vehicle. Any vehicle (including Land Raiders) can be affected as its not a roll of strength vs toughness/ av but just a random chance of immobilising and stripping a hull point off any vehicle. The only time I've ever seen people use land raiders are in a terminator armoured assault, so immobilising l/r's with grav guns can be a good thing in this list. Still only 2 lascannons. Although if split up into combat squads you'll still get to use plasma cannon on different targets. Still undecided which chapter tactics would work here. Ultras could work, or Raven guard to give a bit of outflanking ability..

The 5 man tac unit does present lovely options such as you have used - sniper lascannon squad.
its also worth noting that a 5 man assault squad can have 2 melta guns + jump packs for deepstrike melty gooo, or 2 flamers if you like roasted infantry.
I'm still most fond of the tank hunter devastator rule .. imperial fists is it?
tank hunter is a really mean ability to give to a marine with a heavy weapon.
I'm thinking AV14 leman russ and AV 14 battlewagon's are going to be more frequent enemies of your marines..

Assault squads don't get the meltagun option and it hasn't been FAQ'd yet. They only get the plasma pistol or flamer option. Vanguard can't take them either from what I saw but vanguard can all have grav pistols now.. Speaking of which... I saw that and made a 'lets spam grav pistols just because we can' list.

thats me getting wishful thinking again.
mind you 2 flamers on a5 man assault squad is great!
pretty sure blood angels can do something a bit melty with their assaulty units

The BA, being lucky gits, all get access to infernus pistols and hand flamers. S3 flamers aren't great but melta pistols are just crazy..
Still not sold on the 3 centurions; the models look pretty bad and they have no invulnerable save unless you make the whole chapter Iron hands. 290 points for 3 models with a 2+ save.. Could get a 5 man dev squad with lascannon and a 5 man assault squad instead. On the other hand the rules for the grav cannons are just evil ; 5 shots each 24" if stationary, AP2(twin-linked as well) and 1/6 chance of immobilising and taking a hull point off a vehicle.

if you haven't bought the centurions.. I seriously recommend getting something else.
not that I don't like them and want to influence your decisions or anything!
1 in 6 isn't great vs a vehicle.. though 5 shots makes up for that.
personally I'd recommend more lascannons (devastators or sternguard) and maybe another stormtalon for reliable air superiority.

No, I don't think I'll get 3 centurions for £50 when I could get 20 basic marines for that same monetary cost The grav cannon is the only appealing bit of wargear and the centurion is the only thing in the list that has it. But for the same cost you can take twin-linked lascannon instead of grav cannon and amp (gc isn't twin-linked but rerolls to wound instead), or even a 5 man devastator squad with lascannons and still have enough points left over for a 5 man tactical squad with a lascannon, both with vet sgts... You can actually take a 5 man sternguard squad with 2 lascannons as well, thanks for pointing that out. I just always think expensive combi-meltas or just leaving them with bare bolters because of special ammunition whenever I consider sternguard.
