Everyone in my 40k gaming group that plays CSMs complains about all the Heldrakes built in the same pose. Well, I decided to do something about it. I saw a pose on line that I felt I had to copy. Rather than swooping over the battle field, this pose has the Heldrake coming in for the kill or a landing.

The body is now vertical rather than horizontal to the table top. The stand will go in what was the exhaust which now points downward rather than rearward (poor guy is getting a permanent colonoscopy) I had to cut the chest so the neck and head could face forward and the wings are outstretched to create as much drag as possible to slow the beast down. I put the smaller feet and talons from the legs up on the wings and the larger talons and "hands" went down on the legs so it looks more like a bird of prey.
I haven't attached the head yet because in this new pose it opens the option to add some really cool flames or something shooting from the mouth. I came up with the idea of flames and I glued some old sprues from a few WW II tank kits which I will use as a frame to mold some greenstuff flames on. This will be relatively heavy so I will need some hefty magnets to hold it in place. Here is what my efforts look like so far.
