Hi you guys!
A little time since I posted an update, but I haven't been idle! Not by a far!
I haven't got the amount of work done that I've planned for during this summer although, there have been unplanned things (fun things, so no worries) and for the last two weeks it's been tropical heat here.
And in a nation that has most of the buildings built for cold winters that ain't a comfortable thing. PHEW!
I've created a little rule that I will follow hard, no more than 5 WIP/PIP project at any time! No problem really, as the missus has forbidden me to buy any more... Oh well lets hope that the relatives take their responsibility
For the moment there's 4 project in the mill.
AND I've been working on my rust-techniques, as you'll hopefully see on the basilisk chassis!
The baneblade in it's current condition
This is the most finished side, about 90% done. Now it needs some rust and oil. And the tracks and track assembly as well needs paint and weathering.
There's a LOT of turrets in this thing!
I rebuild the engine cover, added some to-be metal mesh.
And now a thing that I need to ask you guys about. I want to give the tank a little something, I had a couple of decals on the sides but I didn't get them to work. So now I'm thinking of some kind of medieval pattern coming from the aquila on the back of the turret.
Or will it look out of place? Any other ideas on how to give the big gal a unique decoration?
I've been working with more things than the Baneblade, and well, a Dreadnought lacks the tracks, but is basically a tank on legs. And this one is also missing the firepower.
The main body is basically done, perhaps a little more weathering and oil and it should be done.
The arms is just chipped, and need weathering. The talons does also have some work left, but it should be a quick thing to finish them.
I also have a Baal, that is in the weathering phase. There has been a few errors on my part, but nothing that can't be fixed.
And when I got bored of the Baneblade I took the chassies from my basilisk and decided to try out ALL weathering I had in mind for the Baneblade, and I think that it looks really good!
And I'm also satisfied with the tracks! They got just that look that a vehicle that's on duty has, meaning no mud and rust just a little dust in the crevasses. Sure, if you REALLY want to make them realistic you can spend a day or two with the tracks and a hobby knife and cut out small pieces of the rubber, but I didn't have the patience this time.
And as for the anchors on the back and lack of gun-shield of the cannon... I thought that it was my own ideas, just to realise that I've must seen them at Cosmics page quite a while ago... Discovered THAT when I looked through his old thread for some inspiration. Oh well, you gotta learn from the great ones!
That's all for this time! And as said, I really need ideas for decoration of the Baneblade turrets. I'm dry of them (ideas that is).
If you like what you see and want a more daily update you should have a look at "Scanian Minis" on facebook.
Take care lads!
