So earlier today I came across another new release for 40K. Yay, Space Wolves. Okay, kind of cool, I suppose. But then I click on the link. What did I behold? Something so ugly not even a gretchin would touch it! I put it in spoiler tags to give you the choice. Mangle your eyes or remain blissfully unaware.

Well, so far as I know, chariots weren't an actual unit type until 6th, so the inclusion of it makes sense, as they're going to want another way of making models for them to make money My main thought of where it went wrong is the wolves pulling it. One is going forward whilst the other is vering off to the side. So discipline, very trained. The Character also seems a little too static for a man being pulled in a chariot. Stabilizers asside, there is going to be rocking around, and the whole issue of acceleration to think about. This guy looks like he'll fall flat on his arse when the wolves pull from a standstill.

No, they jumped the shark with Codex CSM 4th ed. The rest is just an increasing series of shark jumps.

Ah yeah, I had posted a linky to a much smaller and poorer quality of this abomination in the Stormfang thread.
Do. Not. Want. Gives a new and unwelcome mental image to motor-boating.
Although I do kinda want the Logan mini. Hopefully he'll be easily bitzed out and I can get him from Bay o' E sellers...

It took me a little while to get used to this but I warmed up to it. But I don't think this works at all. Of course all power to any wolf players who are loving the idea, I look forwards to running into someone who has done something interesting with it.

This thing is really bizarre and laughable... but shark jumping has been a competition sport at GW for many years. I mean, 40K is the only game where space elves in clown costumes are considered an elite military unit.

The chariot is an option; I like the new Grimnar model. Seems terminator special characters are getting up-sized. Does one of the wolves have power axe marks on its rear-quarters? Grimnar just hacks his wolves with the axe instead of whipping them?! Of course all power to any wolf players who are loving the idea, I look forwards to running into someone who has done something interesting with it. I like the idea of the chariot itself but I might make a terminator santa on the back just for a laugh. Or a fireteam of three wolf guard with stormbolters on the platform. 3 evil masters in a grav wolf chariot drive-by. But I don't want grimnar/ other scs so I'd have to house rule it if I ever go mad and buy it.

I like it. fits the whole Viking in space thing lol How. Vikings never used chariots. Chariots don't belong in space. Wolves don't pull chariots. This is just pure 80s cheese, but not in a good way.

I can't defend it.. I want to because I love space wolves, but it's just.. Awful.
At least there's a new Logan model now. Always fun..

The chatoit is designed in my opinion to look like the front of a Nordic sea vessel. I'm sure Viking vessels?s were always pulled by wolves though swimming in front, I could be mistaken.

They had huskies and sleds. The Vikings also invaded England and Boudicca had a chariot.
OK - that's a bit of a tenuous connection but in the mind of the Ward Wardians it's concrete enough a platform to design new models from. Next time it'll be Late Romans on jetbikes with Cinderella skirts for the Bretonnian fantasy knights...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the hotpot of logic went: Vikings had boats and Space Wolves are Vikings so lets give tem something that looks like a boat. Space Wolves are set in 40k and 40k now has chariots lets make it a chariot. Chariots are pulled by things and (for whatever crazy reason) have decided to make this too short for a sail (because that would be silly) but Space Wolves love wolves so it can be pulled by wolves. Now that it is pulled by wolves there is only enough space to fit one model on board so lets stick a special character model on it, that'll make it special and we might get people who buy it just for that model. ..... Actually I am a little surprised that they don't have a Darkshroud equivalent that is a longboat, they could face off against the Ghost Ark.

Pants on head is pants heresy. For some reason, it reminds me of the extra-fancy speeders that DA had a few editions go.
