If any of you are planning on buying the new Ogryn kit, here is something I have done that saved me some cash.
The kit comes with a ton of extra parts. It is not all the easy to magnetize the kit because of the way the arms are shaped inside, which was initially disappointing. I just decided not to bother. I noticed after I had a ton of pieces left over so looked into what I needed to make more. The box comes with enough bits to make 3 Gryns. You can make either 3 bull type with Slab Shield and Gauntlet, 3 bull type with maul and brute shield, 3 Ogryns, or 1 Nork and 2 other types.
Say you make a set of 3 Bullgryns with Slab Shields. Here is what you would need minimum for each:
For 3x Ogryns - 3 bases, 3x torso, 3x leg pieces
For 3x Bullgryns with Mauls - 3 bases, 3x torso, 3x leg pieces, some replacement arms, 2 chest pieces (assuming you used Nork's armors for one, I actually skip the chest pieces because I think they look silly)
For 3x Bullgryns with Shields - 3 bases, 3x torso, 3x leg pieces, some replacement arms, 2 chest pieces, 3 Slab Shields.
In total it is not a lot of stuff though they are actually bigger pieces. I went over to ebay to look at prices. Since I was not in a hurry, I went the auction route.
What I discovered is that apparently no one is buying these parts. Via the auctions, I managed to get 2 sets 3x legs and 2 sets of 3x torso. I paid 5.37, 7.48 for the legs. I grabbed a torso for 5.50 and 6.28. Note this is including shipping. I grabbed some bases from another bit site for around 5.50 with a big order of other parts for another project.
With the first set my the additional 3 regular ogryns was around $16. I just bought my second bullgryn kit, when it arrives I should have enough extra parts to make another Ogryn, a Nork, and a Bullgryn all for around 16 as well.
There is nothing much special about the tip, but if you were buying Ogryns already it is just an easy way to make some more for cheap. Hopefully, you get the lucky like I did.
