The new GW kits are really great cause they come with so many bits to use to build other models, if you can get a hold a few more bits. Here is what I have come up with in the last couple of months since I got my hands on some kits and bits.
First up is my version of Old One Eye. He is supposed to be the biggest, baddest carnifex ever right? So why build him with a 'fex kit. I took a Hive tyrants legs (leftover from a flygrant build) a carnifex head, crushing claws, tail and scything talons, a trygons abdomen and carapace and got this.
The one on the left is for size comparison to a regular carnfex. You can see that OOE is bigger with the trygon body, not too much bigger but big enough to set him apart from a normal 'fex.

The scything blades on the tail are left over from a Hive Crone build.

Getting the tyrant legs to fit the slots in the 'fex tail took a bit of shaving but it gives OOE a more aggressive and imposing posture.

Next up is how I got a Tyrannocyte and a Mucolid Spore out of one kit. How can you do that since you only get enough tentacle legs to do one or the other. Simple answer, scything talons. Check this out.

As you can see I put the side tentacle things from the 'cyte and used them as the support tentacles for the mucolid spore. Personally, I think they look rather odd on the cyte sticking out randomly from the side and each one bent at exactly the same angle. Real tentacles don't do that. In their place I put some left over scything talons from a trygon/mawloc build. The talons give it a more Tyranid look.

For the spore, you can see the tentacles work pretty well (took a bit of shaving to fit). I filed one of the carapace openers flat and glued it to a base then glued a tentacle to it for support. I think it looks pretty good.

Finally, here's a Tervigon made from the flying legs and tail left over from a Swarm lord build, some carnifex carapace plates, Scything talons, crushing claws, a tervigon spawning sack and abdomen and some spore mines thrown in to fill holes.

The green stuff on the legs is something I borrowed from Miniwargamer Chris. Because the legs are so pointy I was afraid they would break. So I glued some straight pieces of paper clip to the edges of the talons and feet. They are about a quarter inch longer than the legs so they bear all the weight. I then greenstuffed over them to hide them.

I was hoping the pointy legs would give it more of a spidery look (hence the bug antenna head). I am not sure if this pulls it off, but it works on the battle field.
LMK what you guys think,
Doug
