I like! Where'd the piper come from? And what's your regiment's marching tune?

The piper comes from Victoria's miniatures, they have a very nice conversion kit.
I have platoon, conscripts and veterans too.
I suppose "The black Bear"!

Never noticed that piper kit from her before, I might have to get one. The flag is nice too, I just noticed you added the HD flash on it. Are you going for a temperate scheme then? I can't tell if it's brown or green, but it doesn't look desert-ish.
Blue and a little green - is that the classic "government" tartan?

The scheme is the classic battledress, which standard cadian dress look so like. So they will be brown with green for the flak armor and the helmet. The tartan is the blue and green of the Black Watch. Precisely 1st Black Watch.

Outstanding start! The only thing I'd suggest is that you might want to apply a light wash to the standard to darken/dirty it a bit to make it tie in with the troopers' uniforms. For fun perhaps you could incorporate a Ratling section working a field kitchen where they would be preparing Haggis, and also have a stash of barrels full of the finest Single Malt Scotch that they were able to "acquire" from the regimental supply train?

I like them! Victoria has some sweet conversion bits. Do you plan on using the kilted legs for any units? Veterans maybe?

No, I plan to use gas masked head for veterans, but no kilted legs, because kilts weren't used during WWII

They were in 1940, by some of the first 51st Highland Div before it was taken at St. Valery. Also by some of the pipers, I believe.

They were forced to burn their kilts before they leave the barraks heading to france. But they "misterously" get their kilts back for the victory parade in tripoli. Anyway kilted highlanders is not a common sight during war operations ib WWII
