That are a really nice conversion! I would never think off using Sentinel legs and those torsos. All those little details make them a great looking unit. Good job!

Thank you, I am happy the conversion worked out. I started messing with broken bits and just went with it. I am considering adding some segmented shoulder armor patterned after what illustrations of Skitarii have and a gut plate with the Adeptus Mechanicus symbol.

These look really interesting, commissarbob. They could even be used as sentinels for some skitarri type guard regiment.
Good work with the springs. Did you drill into the bitz and use wire with springs, or use model parts for the springs/ cables?

It is my intention to use Scions as Skitarii along with these for kill teams and as part of my guard army as a detachment. The cables are actually cast pewter and were collected from mis-casts from larger pieces from where I was working in metal casting.

That's interesting; I would have thought it to be harder to bend the metal to the right shape. Recently I discovered similarly sized actual springs in the removable bit of clipper lighters

These are friggen sweet. I think you nailed the outlandish-but-perfectly-suited-for-40k look.

The pewter is nice because you can bend it to whatever shape you want and it will stay there. A spring would need something inside to hold a particular curve or curves.
Thanks, I am definitely going for the more outlandish Mechanicus conversions.

I have added some armor plates to the servitors. The gut plates from the ogre kits were used after removing the designs for the belly and I used Ork boy shoulder plates for the arms. I got them primed and have given them a black wash to pre-shade them in preparation for painting. I will be painting all the mechanical bits in steel with copious amounts of brass, the cloth elements a rich crimson, and the exposed flesh will be done with glazes to give it a pallid translucent skin. I am however torn as to what to do for the armor plates and other hard structural elements. Option one, leave it the bare metallics. Option two, paint them black giving it a menacing and fairly foreboding scheme. Option three, paint them a cream white/ivory giving it visual interest and a nice color pallete. Thoughts?

Bare metallics with extra details (battle damage/kill markings) that way they won't look too 'the same-y' yet will not take ages to paint up. THese rock by the way

Thanks! They have some color on the now and I will post pictures again once I get them finished to the point of metallics. I can always add the ivory or the black over the metallics after that...

These certainly look a lot better than those Kastellian robots they just released.

Your heavy servitors are looking a lot better now they've got some paint on them. These certainly look a lot better than those Kastellian robots they just released. I'm not too keen on the Kastellian robots either (I do want to loot some tracks of them for Grot tanks) but I do like that they look like cheap knock offs of Necron Destroyers.

They look brilliant now, commissarbob.
I'd use them as Kataphron battle servitors rather than Kastelan battle robots. Even though the Kataphrons are tracked it makes little difference in game terms and the whole battle servitor thing suits better; it's almost perfect timing on the rules release.

These are really good models. I'd personally use them as the Skitarii warstriders myself, but bravo.

You're not the only one who found their design more orky than the uber semetrical fighta bomba.

I am actually considering getting a box of the Kataphron servitors and putting them on the Sentinel legs like I did with these things and use the track units for grot tanks for a different highly converted army I want to finish up.

The Cattyfronds are quite nice. Lots of small intricate parts, and the torsos are eminently magnetizable to enable swapping between the punchy and shooty variant. I just need to find my stash of/get more small rare Earth magnets.
