Mud crunchers, Gravel agitators, the poor bloody infantry. I love these guys, and as such I have dedicated myself to building a company of them. So far I have about 600 guys built and almost a full platoon (about 110 models) painted. I have been working on these guys since the very first cadian plastics dropped, they have seen many different codex's and have gone through multiple changes (they still are as I am currently adding missile launchers to the line squads), but I feel like I have finally found a layout I am happy with. These guys are my First platoon, charged with advancing up table to secure objectives and take the fight to the enemy, so they are modelled as if on the move. 1st Squad 1st Squad kit view 2nd Squad 2nd Squad kit 3rd Squad 3rd Squad kit 4th Squad, no kit view, seem to have misplaced it. Thanks for looking guys. More to come soon, please feel free to leave any comments/criticisms. Cheers, Cuthbo.

Looking good. I like the muted colours you've used on the troops and bases. They look like they are midway through a campaign with all the equipment on their backs. Keep 'em coming.

Nice idea with the removable loaders!!
Might have to pinch that!
Great looking stuff. The use of city terrain helps define their battlefield and thus helps the viewer get a better perspective on the units.

Cheers guys, really appreciate the comments. Go for it mate, though I will admit it can cause some headaches getting the loaders to interact well on the base, may hours of blue tacking and grumbling may be involved. I like the idea, mostly for keeping track of wounds but also as my gaming group counts Imperial Guard heavy weapons teams as 2 models with a heavy weapon rather than the 2 wound model in the codex, one of our many house rules. (shhh, don't tell GW haha) Next up I have my 2 special weapons squads, the first is the breaching team, using meltas and demolition charges to bust open the target. The second squad is the clearance team armed with flamers and a grenade launcher. first team - breaching Second team- clearance Cheers all. As always throw all thoughts, questions, comments or criticisms my way. Cheers, Cuthbo

just noticed you've built your heavies without using the tripod / bipods.. and only using minimal crouching poses; does this mean you have more heavy weapons squads to come?
You should be able to get a mortar and a autocannon / lascannon out of the kit yet!

With careful use of parts and an additional infantry box I have managed to get a heavy bolter team, a missile launcher team, a mortar team and still leave the tripods for a lascannon/autocannon team out of a single heavy weapons team box. Having quite a large bits box helps as well but even with just those 2 kits you can get the missile teams, mortar teams and a single tripoded squad. I try to always push the limits of every box getting as much as I possibly can. For example I hate the cadian flamer, but the arm is great for a slung single arm held lasgun, the nosel makes a great looking shotgun when combined with a standard lasgun and the main body of the weapon when cut down works perfectly as a heavy duty power pack for my SAW(L) weapons. trooper with SAW(L) old pic (and very small) of flamer/lasgun shotgun conversion loader on the far left has the flamer arm conversion, swapping out the flamer for a standard lasgun. Hope this helps you take another look at that unused parts and give them a new life. I f you have any of your own throw em at me I am always looking to learn new and exciting ways to give my models a unique look. Cheers, Cuthbo

Glad to see I'm not the only one converting SAWs.
How'd you do the bipod?

Glad to see I'm not the only one converting SAWs. How'd you do the bipod? The bipod is just cut down aerials from the cadian vox caster, in hindsight they are too thick and im planning on replcing them with either plasticard strips or catachan vox aerials. I love the look or SAWs, all my line squads have them alongside a trooper with a DMR and a scout trooper with motion tracker auspex unit and attack dog/ODD. Do you have pictures of your SAWs? Would love to see your version.
