Haven't heard this one. Rumor I have seen was fantasy after assassins. Then Space Marines.
Orks do need some help, but honestly a mini book won't help.

And being in a edition where GW is trying to continualy flog mini books is arguably worse than sucking it up for a few years with a bad codex. (Orks aren't unplayable for casual games anyway)

Empty never uses green tide because infantry take too long to get to the other side of the board. He uses the Morka, which is quite a shot absorber and looted wagons which can transport and have boom kannons. Which is a shame - he has plenty of ork boyz and I have plenty heavy bolter so we may have to do this thing someday ... Cityfight would be ideal for da green tide! Speaking of which (re lists) I was reading about a ridiculous Ork list you can make with a Stompa super heavy with KFF and several meks and a big mek and lots of Lootaz on board, that is supposed to be virtually unkillable. Whatever damage is done can be undone by the meks who will be putting the hps back on every turn, for sure. Gah! Fighting a super stompa in a pick-up game

I watched a mini war gaming batrep which had a green tide and a stompa making it fearless, the stompa absolulty fluffed all of its shooting rolls and the greentide became a gentle stream after many rounds of cc against necrons with reanimation Decurion detachment, I yawned and turned it off two thirds the way through.lol

I hear your call to arms Chemin - I shall face your heavy bolters with my green tsunami.
I shall set a new high tide line upon the shore of the imperium and leave crappy bits of driftwood and seaweed in my wake!

*Delete arrogant banter*
One of the reasons I think it'll be a while before we see dedicated Clan books is because the Snake Bites are so wildly different. They used to have cyboar cavalry and large squiggoths, so they're more similar to the older Feral Ork list.

Fighting a super stompa in a pick-up game empty just needs to have a 200+ boyz painting session to bring up the numbers. Too many of them are just spray paint brown right now.

I know the feeling only too well...
Shoota boyz in mobz of 30 were so awesome back when anything over 12 (or was it 10?) models was Fearless. Still that 'Ork warband' formation looks OK. The warlord gets Waaagh! every turn after the first. Some of these formations are scary. I can't see 'green tide' in the codex. Was that a white dwarf formation?

Green Tide is the only formation in the Ork Codex. I think it is between the data sheets and the weapon rules. What is the transport capacity of a Stompa?

I think Stompas have a transport of 20. Or at least they used to.
My blitz brigade formation is near completion, i only have 90 questions left in my diploma and then i can paint once more!
a Waaaargh per turn would be handy, the green tide is attractive - and I would love to send one into a heavy bolter themed army to see if the game is true to the fluff.
it'd be nice to see the ork clans given some love, there is a lot of potential for minor tweaks... as long as they don't involve rolls on random charts!

I don't think heavy bolters are the best anti-infantry at all these days. It'd be better spamming thunderfire cannons/ whirlwinds/ allied wyverns and punishers in some kind of unbound omelette. But that would be cost prohibitive; these damn expensive omelettes.
