Wow, these are gorgeous. The color scheme is perfect for the models and coupled with the weathering give a great, desert worn look. Much better than my squad of tallarns!

Thanx, the color scheme is actually quite easy to achieve. And all the weathering is done with 2 wethering powders.

I really should look into the powders. Question for you though. I don't know if its just the lighting in the picture, but why did you opt for a seperate, brighter look for your basilisk?

Unfortunately that's a bad picture. It has the same color scheme in real life.

Fantastic paintjob and subtle conversions, I especially like the work on the barrels of the plasma. There could be some decal work on the vehicles, if you're afraid of messing up, have no fear, the GW lahmian medium is a god send. First brush GW ard coat over desired decal area and dry evenly face up, apply decal and move with tip of dull knife or brush, once dry, apply GW lahmian medium, make sure to get it underneath the transfer, you can poke through with knife, dry evenly and it should look like its painted on.
The bend antennas could use some work, try using scenic modeling tall grass for thin flexible antennas or thin straight brass rod, both can be acquired in local Hobby Lobby store, snip off the detail tip of the current plastic antenna and glue onto the thin brass rods.
Looking forward to see more of your army!

These are great! I always wanted Tallarn (very annoyed you can't even get the Forgeworld anymore) and hour remind me why. Cool army.

Inspiring stuff! I love the Tauros (is that what the wheeled transport is called?) The Officer an cavalry are pretty solid too!

These guys look fantastic! It's great to see some of the old metal models getting some well deserved love. I especially like what you've done with the stormtroopers. The conversions look very natural and are hard to spot if you don't know what the models looked like beforehand.
How hard was it to remove the heads from the tauros? I've considered doing something similar with a head swap but looking at pictures put me off.

Thanx for all the compliments guys. The head swaps foor the crew in the Taurus Venator was pretty easy. Since it is a resin FW model the head can be cut nicely. I replaced them with some of the desert dweller heads from MaxiMini. These also went onto the Stormtrooper models, but since they are metal models the helmets/heads were much harder to get off nicely. The MaxiMini heads are perfect for troopers, they are a bit to large for the FW crews actually, but once placed in the vehicle you can hardly notice.
