So I've been fiddlin' around with sculpting green stuff 'n' stuff. Really I started working on these because my friend has a chaos army that is less chaotic than an ultramarines parade so I am doing these because he has absolutely no imagination and mine is way awesomer. we captured it for chaos! Tentacles?!? We could use some stinking tentacles! Y'see I've used bunches of fantasy bits when my local hobby store liquidated its fantasy sale like rats jumping from a sinking ship. !!40% off!! this was all pretty much done with a tooth pick and a exacto knife with a beat up blade. All of these are a WIP Used the small bases from the Warmachine game which are so close to the new space marine bases. Lil' Green stuff & some dirt and debris and Nobody will ever care.

Those tentacles and sculpted base details just look fantastic. Have you ever considered using milliput for the base enlargement? It's cheaper and when it dries it's heavier.

It's another sculpting medium. It becomes very cement-like and messy as soon as you add water but it's a solid medium. Here's their website : MilliputI live in the UK so it's readily available here quite cheaply, compared to green stuff.

When i tried some sculpting and patchwork i found miliput really good... and its like 10x cheaper than GS, you need to work a bit faster than GS though.

Update. Yeah, I went there. this guy seems really happy with my conversions. Some came out better than others, such is the nature of chaos. That bolt pistol arm came off of one of the chosen models in the DV boxed set. Had to cut the sling off but after watching a youtube tutorial on sculpting chains out of green stuff I'm pretty confident I can tighten up that detail. Lots of 'nid bits in here, I got inspired back in "Let the galaxy burn," by a story about scouts who board a hive ship and the librarian cantidate keep hearing the hive mind beconing them to join him. Since these guys are supposed to worship Tzeentch I figured they would probably say yes on a whim.

a predator I'm in the middle of kit bashing the Eff out of. Of course somebody was complaining about how awesome I'm doing. But I told them to shush, who has time to listen to nay sayers? I got a lot of spare parts from the kit that I just didn't bother using for this project, as you can see there is a lot of spare sprue used to absorb the tanks weight so that it doesn't sit on all of those arms. I'm pretty happy with it thus far.
