Hello everyone,
Thanks to a happy little accident with the last order I placed with GW, my artillery pool now has a potential 4 extra vehicles rather than the two I had planned...
I already have a Bassilisk and a Wyvern, but this afternoon I recieved two Manticores/Deathstrike Launchers, and two Wyverns in the mail. My original order that got lost during shipping was replaced by GW after it failed to arrive after ~3 months, and somehow arrived at the same time as the replacement order they sent out.
So, besides kicking myself for not ordering more stuff with my christmas bonus, I've been wondering what to do with the extra kits.
- The 3rd Wyvern will probably be magnetized so that I can either use it as a Hydra when I feel like it, or as part of a 3 piece battery for when I want to really kill some Greenskins.
- The Manticore/Deathstrike is where I'm a bit lost though... Looking at the sprue & manual; it will probably be a royal pain in the behind to magnetize, and be pretty wobbly unless I spend half to model's cost in magnets. And because the vehicles can't be taken in squadron I doubt I will be using two outside of the 2-3 times a year I play apocalypse.
So what would you recommend? building a second Manticore and rain pieplates all over the table? or Building a deathstrike?

I personally like to run two manticores and a squad of two wyverns. The deathstrike looks strong on paper, but the few times I used it it didn't fire when I needed it, and tire ally hurts when it misses. With the manticore you are gaurenteed four rounds of shooting, with the possibility of 3 pie plates a turn. They can be very handy for taking down vehicle squadrons, troops, and multi wound units like Tyranid warriors, and Thunderwolves.

Run two manticore's put an enginseer by each giving them power of the machine spirit fire off 4 rockets in the first round meaning possible 12 pie plates, do the same second round. Useless after that by then should have done a huge amount of damage nice and early in the game. (People will not like you mind, especially if you are bringing three wyverns as well, you will have no friends lol) if you really want people to hate you put a ccs with the kurvos in the middle of your manticore's re-rolling those ones. Again no friends! Lol

They only count as separate weapons for the weapon destroyed result.
