Dear all I took part in a 1500 pts tournament. I was soundly beaten. Now we shall repeat it with 1850 lists. The rules are 1) No Fw 2) No superheavies or Gargantuan 3) Only one fortification 4) mixed missions both maelstrom and dawn of war. 5) New rules (faq angels of death and skies of death) are fully accepted I feel the need to do better but I dont have much and since it is WYSIWYG I am pessimistic. I will include a list of everything I got in the hopes I receive some advice Thank you in advance

And really i dont want anyone to spent the time for a full list. Just some advice in this rapidly changing game ....

Do you know what armies you will be facing? Guard are not a very competitive army in 7th edition as it favours fast moving armies like Eldar. You are going to want a very mobile army so things like veterans in chimeras and deep striking scions will be good. Get as much str 7 shooting as you can as most armies have light vehicles or MC's. Bring a few dedicated anti heavy armour units to deal with things like land raiders and Knights. I post you a list I would run with your models if you would like.

Thank you I know there shall be 2 marine armies, 1 space wolves, 1 tau, 1 orcs, 1 chaos marines, 1 grey knights and 1 tyranids I never got the whole speed issue right. I would really like to see an experienced players take on the issue

Ok I've come up with a list that I would bring based on your models, some thing you don't exactly have but I'm sure you can make it work haha
HQ:
Tank Commander- Pask, Punnisher, Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Exterminator, Lascannon, Multi Melta Sponsons
CCS- MoO, Lascannon, Standard, Vox
Psyker- ML 2
Elite:
Tempestus Platoon- 5x scions 1x melta, 5x scions 1x melta
Troops:
Veterans- Chimera, 2x Plasma, Democharge
Veterans - Chimera, 2x Plasma, Democharge
Platoon- PCS 3x melta, 1x flamer, ISx3 3x flak ML, 3x flamers, Vox, Commissar
Fast Attack:
Vandettas
Heavy Support:
LRBT
LRBT
Agis Defence Line- Quad Gun
Ok so plop your blob behind the ADL and let the commissar man the quad gun, have the CCS issue them orders while also being a bit of AT. Have the Psyker roll on divination. Make Pask your warlord and push up field with him and the two vet squads. Have the PCS in the Vandettas for more AT support. Deep strike in the scions for objective grabbing and AT. You have a few mobile units but board control will be hard. The big thing is to keep your vets and Pask alive as long as possible

Thank you and i will take your advice. Only issue is with the coming death form the skies my group considers vendettas non playable (since no new profile exists) so i will have to do without them ..... pity really I will keep you informed as the weeks go by and i play the fist games .... That seems unfair as it is still a codex choice, I have yet to see the new book did much change to the Valkyrie?

Valkyrie stayed the same in some respects. It now follows the new rules for fliers ( complicated ) can earn some advantagesin squadrons. But it lost skyfire ( it is an attack flier). I always used the rocket pods so i don't mind really.
