It would be nice to see an "armory" type section, all the weapons of the imperial guard, from the smallest las pistol to the powerful demolisher cannon, all it's specs (real world perspective, not 40k game perspective of course) and just it's layout, how it works, ammunition, effectivness and against what (orks, eldar, etc.), and so on and so forth.

See what you can do about alternate orignizations like drop troops and tank companies.
Also, remember the 40k faction division. ie. Stormtroopers usually arent part of the guard regiment itself, they're usually a seperate entity, same as Commissars. Just stuff like that.
I'd like to help as much as possible. If you'd like some input or want to bounce some ideas around, feel free to PM, IM (aim: Mylesproweer) or email (jgecik@gmail.com) me.

So all H.S.O.'s are called Colonel ? In the old codex they were. This sounds like a nice piece of fluff. What I like about the new codex is that they allow for sculpting your army the way you want to. If you want a front line force, you can have your HSO as a Captain, and the JO Leutenants (spelling??), or you can have a Brigadier General with higher ranking officers leading the platoons. It is all down to what you want your army to be.

The rank chart is easy. And there is no rank like Warmaster. Warmaster is a title given to the leaders of crusades. Horus was a Warmaster like Macaroth and Slaydo. Warmasters ofthen hold the rank of Lord General or Lord General Militant Guardsman Coporal Sergeant Lieutenant (JO) Captain (SO) Major Colonel (HSO) Brigadier General Lieutenant General General Lord General (or Lord Marshal or Lord Castellan) Lord General Militant Lord Commander Militant (High Commander Militant) Lord Commander Militant of the Imperial Guard
