Some people just use them with the IG codex. In fact they would work better with the Space Marine codex. Bolters, rhinos (the squats actually invented the Rhino according to ancient fluff), indestructable armour, high toughness, bikes... Definitely Space Marine rules. Maybe, but I've seen them used as IG. Plus my squats were armed with lasguns.

Think ive got a pdf or word file of a codex for them somewhere, want me to see if i can find it? (dunno whether it would be against forum rules - hence not sticking it up anyway!) its got basic stats and rules, and a back story, but i dont think its official?? if it's not violating any IP rights then I say post it!

Well there is no Codex Squats so there shouldn't be any IP issues except if it's lists the stats to any of the weapons that are still used.

just read this forum. I think that squats shouldn't be brought back i would hate the idea of warhammer 40k being the fanstasy with guns scenrio. Also if any one is intrested our galsxy is acutualy quite close to another and is ripping that one apart. Maybe thats where all the axed races go? Isn't that where the 'nids came from? And where one of the C'Tan fled to when the other ones turned on him?

Isn't that where the 'nids came from? And where one of the C'Tan fled to when the other ones turned on him? Well if the WARHAMMER world is in the 40k galaxy then why wouldn't they be there (they are infested with Orks after all). I'd hate to see what a couple of Genestealers could do in Warhammer.

All of a sudden the warhammer count/hero/whatever it is that commands a warhammer army says..."excuse me but it's time for our magic phase, would you kindly stop shooting artillery at my troopers while i attempt to cast this terrific spell that will decimate your army.Thank you, i appreciate it.Carry on ."

It's debatable whether the Warhammer world is in the same galaxy as Warhammer 40,000... but if it is, I think that it's either Terra before the warp storms cleared up and the Emperor rose to power, or it's a world that's stuck somewhere in the Eye of Terror, and the only reason it isn't entirely a daemon world is because of Sigmar and his descendants keeping Chaos in check there.
And the 'nids were supposedly created by one of the C'tan, who the other C'tan turned on, which is why he fled to the place where the 'nids came from. I can't remember which one, though... the Outsider or something, I think. And I'm not entirely sure whether or not the 'nids could eat the C'tan, seeing as the C'tan have basically elevated themselves to god status or something.

right this is crazy talk the two games systems are quite obviously copies of each other but with diffrent game style and rules to apply to each persons game playing needs, the do not exsist in parralel universe or anything like that. its just warhammer fantasy battle and 40 k the do not cross over.

But they do! They both involve the gods of Chaos: Slaanesh, Nurgle, Khorne, and Tzeentch. They even have the same daemons for each god. They may not be in the same universe, but they do cross over.

I cast fireball at all persons in this thread.. rolling 3 dice.. getting triple 6s.. unstoppable force.. everyone take d50 hits at str your dead... If the fluff presents itself both worlds could exist simaltaniously... which could bring down all sorts of cool things if someone wanted a real challange and tried to play a fantasy army againest a fantasy army.. My Night Goblin archer hits you and wounds 12 times with his arrows.. roll your damn 3+ armor save.. oh and my NG on Giant Squig has a 1+ armor save.. good luck killing him What Heavy Bolters?? Oh snap.. extreme panic tests... Cheers Gris

true enough that both game systems share the same components on that we are agreed so why not have a total race cross over. i dont deny that they share the same components i agree in fact why not bring in space cold ones or summit at the end of the days other races could be done on mail order at litytle cost and i think with 40k revolitionising itself more choice can only be a good thing?

reading in my 2nd edition IG codex, it mentions that there are no more squat stronghold planets in the imperium and that the last of them seceded during the age of apostasy. before that it mentions the inquisition testing the humans of planets rediscovered during the time where mankind re-explored the stars for DNA proof that they were in fact 'fully human;' if the people of the rediscovered planet didn't measure up, the whole planet was exterminated and repopulated - this could be a reason for the squats secession from the imperium - the fact that the inquisition was probably slaughtering them wholesale on sight for not being fully human. and that, my friends, is my thought on the age old question "what ever happened to the squats?" I have Squats in my army (I am from Rogue Trade days). I talked with a guy from Games Workshop US and he stated the Squat Homeworld was taken over by the Tyranids! The rest may have been kill in the inquisition? The planet Essex (our story line) has been a refuge for them.
