Cool!
Petsonally I feel like basing squads is a bit easier (although big bases help too) because you can mix it up a little; have one two bases covered completely in snow, another with large patches of snow over a field of grass/rock, one with most of the terrain showing and only a bit of snow, etc. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it gets the idea of "snow covered field" across sinoly because it shows different.

The latest delivery from the Russians! I've been after this one for a while and now I have him at a decent price. He'll get a snow base to match the sisters and I'll have a great laugh when he expoldes on a 1.

What’s cooler than a warrior monk?
A warrior monk with a massive Plasmagun!
Looking forward to seeing this guy painted.

Cheers Gents, He's nearly done, I ran out of PVA Glue so I couldn't base him. Thanks to the Russians, I have finally put the cherry on top of my Dominus siege Bombard, The Cherry being the Heavy Stubber. I have WarGlaves, Shadow Sword and the Priest to come next, then I can start on the Serphim.

Bloody hell you’re a busy man!
The Dominus looks great.
I think your weathering is bang on.

I'm a very busy man Jud, I hope I can stay that way until Christmas.
Just forgot to put the wash over the brass armour and then he's done. I find weathering stressful, trying to balance everything and not going over the top. I think on my 3RD assault launcher I've got it spot on.
Tonight I will be getting messy with the weathering powders for the Assault launcher and then Pictures.

It can be stressful, after all you’ve just painted a beautiful (and usually expensive) model and now you’re going to muddy it up!

Maybe its a preference thing but I prefer the tanks looking clean.
That Dominus Bombard looks perfect. The heavy stubber dude is a great addition to tie it in to the army.

The Knightly Household is looking good.
I didn't realise how good the Armigers were such good models.
The paint scheme is good too.

New update on my Vostroyans. Chimera with ForgeWorld Search Light, rear door and Auto Cannon. Closer inspection showed me that the Rear door is recast, however the search Light and Turret are ForgeWorld. Sitting with my Storm Chimera. I'm currently working on the Vulture Gunship however I'm still waiting on ForgeWorld to send me the Heavy Bolter section that sits under the cockpit. (Taking their sweet time) More updates to come.

Those are some great looking tanks even if that door is a recast. Does the searchlight have any rules like the sabre platform one? or is it just a cool looking searchlight?

Thank you gents.
The search light is really cool, I magnatized it because it kept falling off all the time but now she sits firm. I have the old imperial Armour book so I'll have a look tonight, if not I'll use the same as the platform rules.
Next up will be the Vulture Gunship and then (Once relesed) the Genestealer Bikers that I'll be converting to Vostroyan Rough riders.

this thread is a river of awesomeness, love what you are doing! Thanks Treds, I'm glad you like it. This log is about having fun, working with what you've got and giving it a good old fashion try I'm excited to show everyone the Vulture Gunship, I'm working hard on it so hopefully this week you'll be able to see it.

I got the Vulture for Christmas however, Forgeworld forgot the heavy bolter and the pin on the front, so I had to wait three weeks for them to send a new one. The kit to build was easy and not a great deal of work to be done, only a few gaps to be filled underneath but nothing hardcore. The Vulture is coming a long nicely, only a couple of areas to work on but otherwise she's done. I've sat the pilots in a little lower so I could add some Vostroyan heads. When I first air brushed the red on I was really scared because it was bright but I've managed to tone it down and I'm happy with red. Edit: I didn't have a brush to flick off all the snow flock, really annoying!

Looks amazing! I especially like the red cockpit, ties it in perfectly with the rest of your force.
Do you always use an airbrush?

I use a small Air brush just for tanks and larger units and then brush work for details and Troops. I don’t use anything special as I’m a learner, it’s a small Nail art compressor that does the basic jobs I need. You can find them on eBay cheap.
