Those are some great looking miniatures! I also like those walls in the background.

Thanks, the green is vallejo yellow olive. The demo charge base coat was old GW sulphur desert yellow. The walls were part of an old office drawer divider that I cut up and chucked a load of silver paint and inks on. I keep meaning to put graffiti on it, but I seem to always be painting troops.

Got some more bits finished; Some Cadians with big Xenos strangling hands. The same Cadians but this time sitting in their Alien Filth Appreciation chairs. Loaders. A lone Valhallan and his moral compass. This time some Tallarns. As you can probably deduce, I'm an old time gamer. The rest of my special weapons squad. My genestealer Magus who will probably do a bit of moonlighting as a regimental advisor. I hope you're not too offended by the xenos at the end.

Great job, I think you should do a little something different with the bases. That's really my only critique, everything else looks like it would be a lot of fun to see fielded. Bravo.

I'd recommend more shrubbery, maybe a few of those necron crystals you can learn to carve from the sprue plastic after a simple youtube tutorial. A couple skulls here & there, some ork bits, maybe some lost cadian helmets or razor wire.
I'm doing lots of brick personally but you and with the flavor of your Catachans, I'd recommend you get a fever... and the only prescription should be more shrubbery. Like 43% more shrubbery.
Oh! and dead tyranids! or maybe even just generic toy bugs! Being a veteran myself I can tell you that sometimes you see more insects then enemies, unless you're a U.S. Marine in 1950's Korea but yeah other than that you just see metric F-tons of bugs...everywhere! bugs and shrubbery. Bugs you can't even imagine! In swarms of horrific individuality unto ecosystems sometimes relative to one exclusive mud pit while not but one mountain ridge over will you find an entirely different scene shrouded in erie silk infested with chittering chants of thousands of violent yellow arachnics, shaking the every branch in unison as if a hive choir over populated to the point their very numbers have sucked the life blood from every bird, rodent, small amphibean... and they haven't eaten well in, months can you hear how hungry they sound?
Centipedes & Millipedes & Manopedes oh my!

Sounds good to me, reckon I can retrofit bugs and such to my bases. Thanks for the reply.

So this Cadian dude on the left here has a bush or shrubber of plant thingy & I made it from the feather's on the caps and helmets from these empire fantasy bits that were on sale at my local hobby shop. As you can see I just cut the damn feather's off and glued them to the cadian... when they should have probably been added to a Catachan but I was experimenting so sue me.

You can see a good example of these feathers on the guy's helmet to the right there, I left this one on because well.... I like all my dudes to look different.

After quite a while I have finished some more models for my army; Following that1guy's suggestion I've put a squashed alien grub on the base. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. Next is a Colony 87 Recordist who can moonlight as a Master of Ordnance. Another model from the Colony 87 project, a Xenobiologist that helps classify and examine alien lifeforms so that good honest guardsmen know exactly where to apply the bayonet. Note the alien creature that may or may not be dangerous behind him. Don't worry, sergeant Bloke will sort it out. Every good Xenobiologist needs a gardening servitor! An alternative Astropath, also from Colony 87 fame. Finally an old Warzone model that I will be using as an Ogryn Bodyguard. A sort of Frankenstein's monster for the military. C & C welcome. For those interested there is more pics and words on my blog post.

Cool minis, how do the colony 87 miniatures compare to GW in terms of scale?

Cool minis, how do the colony 87 miniatures compare to GW in terms of scale? They're generally slimmer than GW figures, height wise they are fairly standard, although I tend to raise the bases of my models so I have many varying heights all through my army. Just like real life I suppose.

Been painting up some more guardsmen and I've been using the new Citadel contrast paints. Overall i'm pretty impressed. So here are some models 20 odd years in the painting; Colonel Schaeffer's Some Catachan grunts Company commander and a couple of cronies New recruit Onanism, Preacher and the Krablokistan 47ths combat instructor Xhuc Pan Tang.
