I'm pretty OK with GW's rule-updating habits. I've been playing since the good ole 2nd ed days like a lot of you guys have, and although we've lost a lot of VERY fun things on the way I think most people will agree its a much more elegant game now.
My only real beef is the inequality in terms of rules updates. My heart goes out to the poor Ork and Dark eldar players out there.. i've seen some of the orkiest blokes I know put aside their waagh forever and move on. it's heartbreaking stuff.
I mean, since 2000, how many SM and chaos codices have their been? 3 or so each? And in all that time, no love for orks or DE. It seems crazy to me. I was a chaos player most of that time too, it gets exausting when your whole army is overhauled every odd year :\
Personally I'd love to see Space marines and chaos become more 'expert' armies, requiring finesse and above-average skill. I mean, the space marines are fluffwise one of the smallest organisations in the 40k universe, BUT to the designer's credit I have no idea how you could accomplish making space marines hard to use without just making them flat-out crappy.
