Does anyone think they will ever do an Adpetus Mechanicus Codex? Would any of you play Adpetus Mechanicus? Just a couple quick questions to see if I am the only one. Also stems from the fact that the Adeptus Mechanicus just got added to Battlefleet Gothic...

adeptus mechanicus, from what I understand, is like the imperial mechanic army - they maintain and operate the vehicles of the imperium and that's about it. I 'spose you could do an adeptus mechanicus armored company though I'm not sure how that'd be on the fluff (just trick out all the tanks!). I know apocolypse is going to unlock alot of possibilities in 3k+ sized games what with the removal of boundries like the force organization chart and not being able to use different armies together (in apocolypse, if you can field any army with any army with any army, you just need to justify it fluffwise). this'll make for things like a predator/vindicator/land raider space marine armored company type list which seems more adeptus mechanicus to me than leman russ companies (which are already done and definately part of the IG). what models would you include in an adeptus mechanicus army? I'm curious.

Well, fluff wise they have their own army. The Tech Guard. They are basically "tricked out" Guard. They use them as defense forces and what not.
As to what I would include, would be servitors for sure. Since the Mechanicus is in charge of almost all the Technology in the Imperium it would make sense that they have some very nice, very destructive combat servitors. Then there would be your HQ, which would be an Archmagos, most likely, and he would have access to the Armory, which like every other race, grants him access to fancy gear, like, molecular cutting torches, targeting computer logics, stuff of that nature. Possibley give them some very unique lemun, rhino and Land Raider variants that don't see much "action" as they are part of the Mechanicus. Just an Idea, though. And only some of the stuff given more time, and research, including re-reading Dark Adeptus, I could come up with.
I did think about just doing a guard army. But it just wouldn't look right with a Guard Commander leading instead of a techpriest, plus I am still kinda new at the whole converting aspect, and I have a feeling half my army would look poorly done.

well at least the nice thing about apocolypse is you can take whatever models you want it just has to be 3,000pts or more (though apocolypse is a friendly venue expansion and not a tournament thing so yeah).

It's strange, it wasn't long since I had a similar thought. I think it would be a REALLY good idea and would definately concider collecting them. In my local GW there is a Adeptus Mechanicus themed SM army, most of the marines are on 40 mm bases and have servitors standing next to them (on the bases) some of the marines even had auspexes with wires hanging off which were connected to the servitors as if they were controlling them. There was also a Veteran squad, each veteran had a servo arm and servo skulls.
Anyway, it was a very cool army, the next time I go to town I'll see if I can talk to the army's owner.
