Post here any matches you've had that at the start looked like it was going to be a pretty good match, but ended up being a COMPLETE slaughter, with you either on the giving or recieving end...
My Daemonhunters vs old-codex Khorne at 2,000pts.
At the end of turn six, all the Khorne player had left was an unarmed Rhino cruising the field. 2,000pts dead.
I had lost two GK Terminators, my Landraider had been turned into a twin-linked Heavy Bolter Emplacement (immobilized/all lascannons down), and a Stormtrooper Plasma Gunner committed suicide (overheat, failed save.) That's it.
Yea, it was a rare victory for the DH, and the biggest victory I've ever had, but it was not fun at all. It was getting so one sided by turn four we even disregarded some rules to give him at least a chance at a draw, but, well, it was still an absolute slaughter...
-------------------------------------------------------
500pt Patrol action, SM vs Tau. I lost four SM's total. Squad of seven Assault Marines jumped cover to cover and reached his three squads of Fire Warriors untouched, waded in and hit squad by squad, taking out all but two guys (one was killed by previous incoming fire, the other was last-guy-standing and ran away to end the game.) This one was a case of bad tactical decisions by the player, so I did not feel too bad about smoking him...

Hmm.......ok
400 point combat patrol.
IG vs. SoB's.
I had one full platton of guardsmen with one melta gun and one plasma hidden in some squads. Junior officer with powerfist. My total kills:Everything. His total kills: 1 and 1/2 squads of normal guardsmen. I beat him in close combat with my powerfist killing his lower cannoness. Then rapid fired lasguned with plasma his 20 girl squad. I had two sqauds doing so. Killed:9. Morale Check:Ok then they moved up and flamed the copmmand sqaud. One survives and doesnt fall back. Then I rap[id fire again. Kills: Everything. I didnt feel bad; the only thing that killed anything really was a redempter squad with heavy bolters. Lasguns FTW
I saw this one. In 400 point combat patrol a SM player took a devestator squad with lascannon plasmacannon and two missiles. Then a command squad. (this is Dark Angels btw) with a power weapon, powerfist, and like 2 stormbolters. Then he took a normal 5 man sqaud. he went up against some new eldar player with two direavenger squads and a warwalker. I dont want to go into details but It was nasty. a total of like 3 marines dead........

I was playing an Apocolyptic battle with 4500pts per side with reserves. Although this was unfluffy we agreed that the opposition could have 1500pts of Tau reserves. Their was a massive fortress of trenches, bunkers and a massive gate and opposite ws a ruined city and a bridge which seperated us. The objectives included having one scoring unit on the bridge by turn 6, blowing up the gate (AV 13) and the last objective which the defender couldn't hold was a chapel that you had to either breach the gate or deepstrike successfully and get one scoring unit within 6 inches of the chapel. Notable Units for each side: Allied IG 2 Baneblades 6 Leman Russes Commissar Yarrick
Nurgle/Night Lords/Tau Montarion (Lord of Cheese) 60 chosen
Cutting a long story short we completely shot the crap out of everything that had power armour. We agreed that the attackers reserves could appear where their front units were so 3 hammerheads with rail guns, 2 broadsides and a ton of deepstriking crisis suits, piranos and fire warriors dropped within 30" of the IG forces. They caused multiple structure points to be destroyed on the baneblades and a vanquisher to go POOF in a massive explosion but the majority of there shooting was a wash-out. Finally in turn 5 all they had on the bridge was 15 thousand son, 2 squads of 8 nightlords, their tooled up lord on his bike, Montarion, a greater daemon and a non scoring unit of 7 chosen. Despite being bombarded by 2 baneblades complete firepower only 16" away and over 100 guardsmen and heavy weapons the lesser chaos forces were turned into puddles until finally after the smoke had cleared only Montarion who had enough wounds as a squad of guardsmen somehow only managed to take 4 massive wounds (thats plague marines). In the last turn Montarion flew towards us and engaged a baneblade. Up to that point I was confident I had won but with his crusty sword Montarion punched through the baneblades last armour plating and caused a nuclear explosion with an 18" radius. BOOM! By by gate, goodbye 73 guardsman, nice having 2 sentinals and a leman russ before they were blown sky high and worst of all, the blast failed to even hurt Montarion and his nurgling infested body. So the forces of chaos and earstwhile tau allies won the day through the cheesiet character I know.

Many moons ago I was playing a 1000pt IG vs Spacewolve game.
My mate (space wolves) was a power gamer and took a fully tooled up WolfLord in Terminator Armour + Wolfguard terminators in a Landraider Crusader, A squad of wolf scouts and two other squads of wolves in rhinos.
First shot of the game my Leman Russ fired it's battle cannon at the Landraider, Hits, Penetrates and gets a 6 on the Ordanance Penetrating table - Vehicle annihilated- Everyone inside dies.
700+pts lost to the first shot of the game, there was no second shot. The little puppies ran away with their tails between their legs.
Next game his none of his men started in transports.

The Land raider is a big target so even with some scatter there's a good chance of hitting it and rolling a six on a damage chart isn't that amazing.
Having 70% of your army sitting as one target was amazingly dumb.
