looks like a good start, to me...my brother collects tau and you cant underestimate the use of a lot of firewarriors...great firepower. The mechs are also good, one thing i think its illegal to put individual equipment points on, so you might want to nix that...by the way i think its just you and me now sgtchugalug...i havent seen anyone else on

yeah you have to have at least 1 fire warriors squad in your army, but there is no limit to the max you can have...other examples of this would be 0-1 characther or leader..or 0-2 for certain elite squads.

you do have an HQ choice there, you have a battlesuit. all you do is say that it is a commander, until you get a commander.
do you want rates of te army, or do you want to know what to get next?

i actuallt went out at bought more and went aginst my plan
one commander
shas'o im thinking ion blaster and plasma cannon with shield generator w/ hard wired multi tracker
2crisis suits
both have plasma rifles and multi trackers
one has a missle pod and the other has a burst cannon
3 man stealth team
2 12 man fire warrior squads w/ all pulse rifles and bonding knifes
12 man kroot squad
2 devil fish
1 hammer head w/ rail gun and missle pods
all in all
it adds up to roughly 984 points
i have at least 516 points left were do i go from here and what should i put on my commander

i havent got the new codex, so i cannot help with the commander's wargear.
another crisis suit would help to fill the sqaud. add as well squad upgrades (shas'ui and shas'vre etc.)
a couple of broadisdes would provide you with extra anti-tank power, so you dont need to rely on the hammerhead
a team of 8 pathfinders would be extremely useful, the markerlights would give you a huge advantage on the field.

Please forgive me but it seems like you;ve made some very large mistakes. First of all you never said what the devilfish and HH have besides the railgun and SMS and without any upgrade they are quite vulnerable and fragile. Also are you going to play mech tau, static tau, or hybrid? Without this information I can't help you very much, and try and separate the crisis squads as much as you can, two sqauds of one are better than one squad of 2. Also you are way over what you said you had in points according to my calculations. I can't tell exaclty because you never said what upgrades the HH and DF had but even still your at least 245 points over. ALso which codex are you using?
About our future purchases, They all seem like solid choices except for the vespid. Vespid are quite good agains marines, but in a cruel twist of fate marines are better agains vespid. Vespid are fragile and to use their weapons they have to move into attack range pf the marines. Plus they are "Normal" jump infantry so they can't JSJ. Broasides are good if you play static or hybrid but not very good in Mech tau. If you play hyrbid be sure ot give them ASS (Advanced STabilization SYstem) so that they can use thei're limited mobility to better utilze their railguns.
One more thing, is tis list an all comers list, or a specialized list? if you tell me this I can help you even more.
Good Hunting!
