I was thinking about buying this but is it any good? For those of you who dont know what it is it's the book that each guardsmen gets given when he joins the imperial guard. Its full of prayers, tactics, how to look after you weapon and things like that. I thought it would be quite interesting to read as it would most prob improve my skills as an IG player
I read one of them before....a staff at my local GW shop let me see it hehe, the prayers are awesome, really realistic as if u were really worshiping the divine emperor to guide you toawrds ure duties. I'd deffinately get it, but they dont sell it anymore at my GW store...where are you gonna get it?
I think it would be just a neet book to have to show off that you are a real IG geek( and i say geek in a good way since i ar one).I have seen it but never bought it .It sounds like what i thought it was,but are there tactics in there ? if so then it might be worth more that being able to dress up like your fav. guardsmen and whipping out your I.I.U.P.to prove who is the most nerdy. "... whipping out your preciouses..." Randyl from clercs 2.
i've read the book, it is absolutley fantastic. The only reference to the real world is in the little publishing note that you can cover with your thumb. Otherwise, you're totally in the 40k universe. it has a bunch of identifications for friends and foes, prayers, litanies, lists, and squad level tactics.
Given the opportunity, every die-hard guard player should invest in this book.

if you buy an imperial infantryman's uplifting primer and they ever make a live action role playing game for 40k you could take it and be 'in character' as you tear out pages to either a) make your armor twice as effective (with use of a little glue) or b ) use it as toilet paper.
Pipe down Sergeant, we'll be back on Cadia before the 14th black crusade, afterall, that heretic filth woudn't dare show up until we arrived after the bootstompin' we gave em last time!
