1750 Point army, Need advice and critique

Hey y'all I have worked on a guard list for a looooong time, and have gathered more useful info from this site in the past two days that I have in the past two months. So thank all of you in the community who Contribute . it has helped immensly. So here is my list with a little bit of background.

New Macedon
Companion Armored cavalry and Assault
When Envisioning the force I wanted it to act much like the Macedonian Companion cavalry, Fast moving and delivering many fatal blows to the enemy, while also having a great amount of Manouverability.( Pics to come) Anywho , here is the list.

Things I need to know:
Is this enough scoring units?

I hate having the basilisk in my army, What could replace it? I hate having indirect Barrage in my Fast attack army.

Are my Veterans Okay? How should I use them? Having the option of infiltrate and Deepstrike is good. Deepstriking them they always die, And that is my fault. Maybe when I infiltrate start the Sentinels on the board with them, to give support with thier scout move if neccessary?

I think this is a very good list. In fact its one of the best i've seen. There are very little changes i would recommend but the forgive me if i'm wrong i think that if you choose the Drop Troops Doctrine you cant take any armour heavier than a Sentinel. With Vets they make very good flexible close range assualt unit, and i dont mean assualt as CC. Instead take advantage of there shotguns and the Infiltrate rule to to stick to your opponents flanks and other weak areas. If you are in a hopeless situation with them and they are within assualt range, a powerfist is excellant at making a last stand.

I have not been able to find anything about armor restrictions, However, I know that Only sentinels may drop. That would be stinky if I couldn't take tanks. Thanks for the help

1st - You CAN take amrour in drop troop armies, you just cant drop them.

I like the list but it could use some tweaking.

Specialize every sqaud of Stormies and Vets
Either make them pure melta guns or pure plasma guns.
I would suggest making the stormies plasmas and the vets meltas cause the vets can drop in next to tanks and blow them to smitheerens while the stormies can hop out of their chimeras and eat marines alive.

Also i suggest reducing the size of your vet squads to 5 as when they drop they basically will get one round of shooting then they die. So if you take less you'll be wasting less points. The power weapons might be wasted too as the units will get shot to death after deep striking.

Also, RTM on a basilisk!!! It wont be moving much and if it does certainly not through difficult terrain. In fact all the upgrades except maybe smoke on the bassie wont get used much. Its too easy to kill a bassie for extra armour to help. Smoke launchers might be useful but only if you use them at exactly the right moment.

For the other vehicles - personally i would only take RTM's but that's your choice. The thing is you have so many vehicles that if you took SL and EA off all then you'd have the points for a whole extra tank or squad!! But thats just what I would do.

The command squad is almost perfect but if you have plasma guns you might want a medic. And if your going the plasma route why not make it 3 plasmas, a medic, and give the officer a plasma pistol?? Aslo, i would suggest deep striking the command squad rather than using a chimera.

So if you take my advice your going to have a lot of extra points lying around. I'd suggest another stormie squad or a special weapon squad to add into your command squad.

Heres some suggestions about organization and that final doctrine.

If you want another fast attack choice take one sentinel squad as part of the HQ. The only thing is that if you do this you cant deep strike the sentinel so you may want to make your command squad deep striking instead of in a chimera.
Also, that last doctrine could be used to take special weapons squads which can be deadly with demo charges and flamers or alternatively meltas or plasmas when deep striking.

If your deepstriking you want improved comms on one of your russes or your bassie (or all three for that matter!). Very important to have

Hmmm, i like the list alot and i don't have much to add, but i do have a little. First off, EA and SL i find to be a life saver, if you want mobility, those are insane to have, i used the mechanized doctrine and this is how all of my chimeras lay out, the chimera,multi-laser,heavy bolter, smoke launchers, extra armor, track guards, pintle stubber. They are insane and, huge fire power, at least 4 out of 6 survive almost every game, and they are always mobile thanks to the upgrades, bottom line, i would keep them. Second is you have one more doctrine point, i would use this on one of the free doctrines, the best fit for adding in after you write the list would be close order drill, boosted LD is another life aver, and the higher I does come in handy if you find yourself up against a SM assult squad for example.

Good list, yet a experienced player will see the flaw. They will pop most of your tanks focusing their fire. Then you lose your long range and you can be out manuvered esp. tau.(your army is most vunleralbe to tua)
